“Lovely in Every Season”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We were here last during the Australian winter and didn't expect to see much. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The gardens are worth a visit in any season. It is a lovely place. One of the nicest botanical gardens anywhere.

“Sydney's best kept secret!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens is a must for all international and interstate visitors, and for Sydney residents as well.

First, it is located near most of the most attractive icons of Sydney such as the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, the Rocks, etc. Thus, it is convenient to walk to the Gardens when you are visiting Sydney's Opera House.

Second, it is accessible by a variety of public transport such as buses and subways. If you get there by car, you can find metered parking at reasonably low costs.

Third, the Gardens are very attractive in their own right. There are a variety of plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers from all over the world, including native ones. In fact, there is nothing more enjoyable than walking in the Gardens on a sunny afternoon, regardless of the season. Inside the Gardens, you can take photos with the beautiful Opera House in the background. This will serve as a nice reminder of your trip to Sydney.

To us, the most enjoyable thing is the opportunity to feed birds including rainbow lorikeets and cockatoos. If you plan to do this, come with some mixed bird seeds although the cockatoos' favourite foo id sunflower seeds. You need to come to the right spot and If you are patient enough, the birds will come for sure.

Importantly, there are no fees whatsoever to enter the Gardens.

In short, if you are visiting Sydney, especially for the first time, please include its Royal Botanic Gardens in your itinerary.

“Nice walk and views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

The gardens are well cared for, and have nice walks. The views of sydney opera house are impressive. Would like to come back in a few years and see how the glass houses turn out. The succulents garden is very good too and best thing about it is that entry to the gardens is free.

“Flower power in spring”

Though we were there in July, there were already roses in bloom. Will be fantastic to stroll around in spring.

“Beautiful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

Green and a lot of plant types to discover. I took photos of the plants and had to look up my botanical book to remind me of their names. The sculptures were amazing! From a corner of the Garden, I was very impressed by the beauty of the building where The British Medical Association NSW branch located in.
