“Loved the gardens”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

The botanic gardens are charming. It is right near the governors house. There is a charming tea and gift shop. Lots of fascinating plants and it is right on the harbor so the views are fab. This is a must do. They have free guided walks at 10:30am and I wish we had done that. There was probably a lot we missed. There is a little train that goes through the gardens which is perfect for children and older people. They do charge for the ride. The nearest station is Martin Place but we walked from the opera house. Very close and a scenic walk..

“Not to be missed”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

The gardens were superb. Right along the harbor with wonderful views of the Opera house and the busy waterway, there are tons of little garden areas with different types of gardens. We'd planned on spending an hour or two there but ended up spending almost the whole day. Watching the birds were fun, too, and just sitting by the harbor and watching the boats go by was so relaxing and wonderful. My favorite place in Sydney.

“Beautiful and relaxing”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

If you are on your own, take a map. This is a large garden with many paths, each leading you to another area. There are many entrances and exits. My wife and I got lost, but were rescued by a friendly local. On our second visit, with a tour group, we saw other parts of the park. Give yourself several hours to just wander. Great views of the Bridge too.

A nice place to stroll and picnic! Calm, beautiful and serene. Exotic plants, well laid out! Flying foxes are no more there.
