These apartments are probably between average and good, on the plus side the two bedroom apartments are large and have everything you need. The staff are professional and courteous and are prompt at dealing with requests. (Not necessarily resolving).
If you are a light sleeper then request a room at the back or side street as Crown Street is fairly noisy particularly on a Friday/Saturday night. There are gaps below the balcony doors and the windows are not double glazed or sealed properly.
We moved rooms after one week due to the noise but only because we are staying for a month
There appears to be no standard to the cleaning and both two bed apartments required additional cleaning which we requested with reception. If you only stay a few days then you could probably live with it but after a week the accumulation of grime on the top of the fridge, inside the cupboards, cutlery tray, skirting, kitchen handles, bathroom tiles, phone and the odour of the couch cushions will wear you down. We've never sneezed so much from the dust which settles on top of any surface after 24 hours. Tip: Use the bathroom floor towel to cover the drain and reduce the odour.
Another plus is the location right in the heart of crown street and a short walk to the great cafés and restaurants. Bills has great coffee, fantastic friendly service and uses fresh high quality ingredients. It's not cheap but worth it, go early as often you will wait for a table. Definitely eat at the the Winery and try for an upstairs table. Grilled burgers on the corner of Crown and Oxford is another must.
WiFi, we have several devices so it's a costly exercise for two people for a month. Worth getting a 4G mobile device for better speeds. Do your homework on cost and access as it's not great everywhere in the block.
We used the small hotel gym which is perfectly adequate, again go early before the three exercise machines are taken.
When we moved the TV's in the 2nd apartment had and still have ghosting and screen sizing issues. Asked twice, engineer came and went. Still to be resolved and still cannot read text on screen.
We have an issue with a 24 hour movie package which we didn't order or watch. Although the assistant manager has kindly put a note under our door telling us this we are still obliged to pay for it as it's a third party supplier.
Beds are a little hard and are all singles connected to make doubles.
Overall it's an adequate hotel which needs closer attention to detail. In my opinion this is a management issue and is a shame as it has great potential. Maybe this is where Adina pitch themselves as average to very good rather than excellent.
I'm not in a position to say there are better places for the same value but if I was paying myself I would have certainly looked.
