We ate here due to recommendation and the result was mixed. The service was fine and the decor suitable for a central European beer cafe. The coffee was bland but hot. On a mid-winter's day, the plates were not heated. My wife had a chicken schnitzel with a very tasty mushroom sauce that was freshly cooked. Her meal was quite good and she enjoyed it. However, my meal left much to be desired. I had a mixed platter of roast duck, pork belly and a small schnitzel. The bases were cabbage, mashed potato and sauerkraut. On a cold winter's day it sounded great. The vegetables were fine but the duck and pork had to have been yesterday's unused portions. I've never been offered either duck or pork that were so dry and overcooked. The pork was only just acceptable on the surface but hard underneath. The duck was truly, truly dreadful. This was the most expensive main on the menu and it was simply unacceptable. The portion sizes were fine but when you can't eat the offering it makes the size pointless. Maybe others knew more than we did. While we were waiting for our meal, three groups sent to the rear room departed soon after being seated without eating for reasons unknown to us. Based on one meal being good and one being dreadful, I rate this place as very average and we will not be returning here. Very disappointing.
