5 star hotel. Beautiful hotel. The sleeping/living area of the rooms was ok, however the bathrooms were gorgeous, littles extras in the room and very comfortable beds.
Service was great, very friendly and lovely. Very close to circular quay.
Would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here to 2 nights it was a great location handy to everything staff were good but I was expecting somthing special because we normally star at 4 star properties but this place was no better than most of these.

We really loved this place
- spacious rooms
- really comfortable king bed
- block out curtains ensuring a really good night sleep
- Modern bathroom with big shower and bath
- got a great deal on price
- exaclty half way between the rocks circular quay OR go the other direction and you're on King Street Wharf - Darling Harbour - GREAT LOCATION
- Quiet location
- Attentive staff always opening doors for you etc

GREAT STAY, will definately be back - only negative - their beds need an update (cover and frame) but in saying that, that'd just be for visual appeal, nothing else, the bed was extremely comfortable! Parking was $38 per night or $48 for valet per night

THANKS :-)

Stayed here for 6 nights on a wotif deal. Staff were excellent. Location is great. Bathroom was great. Bed was comfortable. Room had some stains on the carpet. The TV's discovery station had a still picture of a "green eye" staring at you whenever you flicked through the stations. This remained throughout our stay. It was a cold week by Sydney standards and the heating in our room on the 14th floor couldn't be turned up - it appeared set by the hotel. Perhaps a carbon tax initative??? I guess we could of complained but just couldn't be bothered. All 5 star hotels should allow you to have your own control over the heating. All in all, okay. Just not quite 5 star!

Booked for 2 nights through wotif and got bed only..no breakfast included and still cost over $225 per night. Room was ok, a few worn bits in carpets and walls and bathroom..my main grip was the noise at 2.30am - - as most bars are supposed to stop ouotside noise at 3am, was surpised to still hear music blaring and the night manager couldnt hear it...he probably had the ear plugs we were missing!. I know there is limited things he can do regarding outside bars but he could have called them maybe?? They did in fairness offer to move us but the hassle to do this at 2.30am wasnt worth it. Concierge staff were very helpful. Mini bar very expensive so shop outside ; crisps: $6, water $5; internet $9.99 per hour..took the airport transfer for $50...very comfortable.

Well we had a wonderful time here. Wehad a spectacular, spacious room with great views and a wonderful deal via wotif to boot. I'm hoping the Raddison Hotel & suites can match the quality next weekend, I know we will book the Amora again.

Room Tip: Higher floors overlooking sections of the harbour

I first visited the Amora prob 10 years ago. Back then it was a schmick hotel - new! fast forward many years later, it still is a very plush hotel, but the signs of an ageing building can be seen. The room: spacious room, with a very comfortable bed. no question! they also have a pillow menu that includes a chiropractic pillow, a butterfly pillow, a microfibre and a duck down and others to choose from. The TV was located adjacent to the bed. so if you wanted to watch TV, you needed to turn your head 90 degs (in my case, to the RIGHT). Not so cool. It gets very uncomfortable very quickly. Other highlights: a very spacious bathroom. Almost art deco in style with french doors and a clean black and white tile scheme. well lit too! What wasn't so good: the toilet cistern would hiss for a very long time after flushing. that hissing sound emanates thru the room. slightly annoying.... the blinds on the window also needs replacing. It's a 5 star hotel with very very very badly fraying blinds.... seriously, you can spend a few dollars to change it and make a difference. Bottle 'hotel water' wasn't free either. $6 a bottle from memory. The room was also quite dim. Bed side lights were adequate for spot lighting the area, but not very good overall lighting for the room.

A word on the reception, check-in process - rather emotional less and lacking warmth. Don't get me wrong, am not after a hug, but for those that would have travelled long distances to get to Sydney, a smile and friendly disposition wouldn't hurt. Plus, smiling doesn't cost!

The hotel itself is located in a very good location. So it's not right in the shopping precinct, but it's a short walk and close to circular quay.

Room Tip: ask for a room that faces the harbour, north Syd
