“Great location for first time visitor to Sydney.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2009

We arrived earlier than the check-in time but were allowed to check into a room for a while. When we went to move to our room they had misplaced our luggage. They had tagged it with a different name. For our entire stay they offered us access to the club room where we could go to breakfast and happy hour. It was a very generous offer and the happy hour was excellent. The coffee was great too. The concierge was always very helpful in helping me find my way around. I was within walking distance of most places that I would want to go for the night life or dinner etc. It was a good find and cheaper than our previous reservations. The rooms were very nice. We even managed to go to the pool and sauna and they were also very cool places to relax.

My husband and I had our first night away from our daughter recently and stayed at the Amora Jameson (thanks to the reviews on tripadvisor). For $202 on a Saturday night we stayed in a Deluxe Corner room which was quite spacious (much bigger than the Hilton rooms) with a generous bathroom, great location and friendly, helpful staff. Given that it was such a big deal for us to be in a hotel I had high expectations and they were met! I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast is $35 but you get a discount which makes it about $20 - it's a simple buffet style so I'd recommend going out. We found ourselves at a French Patisserie in the rocks and spent less for a delicious brekkie. Can't wait to go back for another night!

Everything you expect from a top hotel. Great lobby, reception and concierge helpful and friendly. Bathroom was very nice, and a nice hotel allround. Stayed here on the front and back-end of a work trip. On the back-end of the trip the room had a broken hip-height shelf, but assumed it was damaged recently.

This hotel was quite good, with a location close to The Rocks/Sydney Harbour/Opera House - only a 5-10 minute walk. Hotel was very clean, professional staff, all you'd expect from a 4 star hotel in the downtown of a world class city like Sydney. Highly recommended. Oh, and the prices are very reasonable for a hotel of this class!

The hotel is very close to all the attractives place in Sydney. We where in honey moon and it was a wanderful and relaxing place to stay near down town. The swimming pool was nice, but the sauna too small. The breakfast was plenty of choices and the services very smart. All the staff very pretty in particular the concierger, but I don't remember the name

This was a great hotel in the heart of the CBD, within walking distance of the Rocks (5 mins), Circular Quay (10 mins) and shopping arcades on George Street (15 mins).

The hotel came as a pleasant surprise with attentive and efficient staff, very clean with a cozy spa facility and filling breakfast buffet.

Highly recommended

...plus, check out the Japanese restaurant 1 block from the hotel on Jamison Street. Good value plus they also offer take aways

Booked a twin room and arrived early. They let us crash in a king room until ours was ready. They apparently spelled my name wrong on the luggage and couldn't seem to find it when our room was ready. It didn't take that long to find, but the manager said he felt so bad he'd give us access to the club lounge for the five nights. The lounge was great with a decent breakfast, evening selections and drinks. That gesture saved us a ton of money in restaurant costs.

The room was fairly large with large windows at the end of a hallway on the 18th floor. It was very quiet all the time. Didn't notice traffic noise at all. Nice large bathroom. Comfortable beds.

I thought housekeeping was great. Never seemed intrusive and always efficient.

We used the pool and hot tub several times in the evenings after walking a lot during the day. Never anyone else there and the pool area is very nice, near the spa.

I really can't think of anything about the hotel to complain about. It's location is great. Very close to Wynyard Station.

We'd like to especially thank Goy for being so helpful and friendly in the lounge every day. She would ask us how our day had gone and if there was anything at all she could get for us.

Nothing could have beat how nice this hotel was especially knowing we had only paid $136 US / day through Expedia.

I'm thinking my luck with hotels lately has a lot to do with the research I've done using TripAdvisor.
