Must say was pretty leary after reading some reviews, however was very pleasantly surprised in all aspects.

Found manager on duty Mark, to be extremely friendly and very professional.

Stayed in triple room and while cannot avoid the noise from the street, room was very clean and tidy, bedding crisp and comfortable.

Stored many belongings in lock up storage for 5 days and have all confidence will be safely awaiting our return. Will of course update review if not the case. LOL.

We stayed a week on first floor, could hear discussions at the reception, arguments in other guest rooms and had to experience dirty sheets and poor housekeeping.
It's a 10 minute walk uphill from Central station on a way street(going the wrong way),so even if you're tired you have no choice
No reception at nights and not very receptive otherwise!!

Stayed there for 4 nights, had a room next to train tracks. Midnight traffic could wake light sleepers with a shock. Train tracks were noisy but not overly disturbing.

We checked in with a heavy heart after reading really bad reviews of this hotel and were slightly wary when talking to the reception.
But Alex at the reception was nothing but friendly and helpful.
We checked in at 6am with expectations to just leave our luggage at the reception but Alex went the extra mile to check if our room was ready to allow us an early room. Though it was not available, his actions warmed us.

Walking distance to Central Station across the road. Free city shuttle 555 was just seconds away from the hotel's doorstep.
Room was small but acceptable with the price we paid and location. Toilet was tiny as we had to angle ourselves to get out of it.

We had a couple comment that their room was amazingly quiet and didn't hear a pin drop, I assume there were not facing the trains
Good korean/jap food across the street.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the train station.

Stayed in room 206. Very old style windows that let every single noise straight into the room even when closed........garbage trucks, cars, drunks, people talking, trains blowing their horns before going into tunnels (thank god the trains stop for a few hours during the night!). You can here a truck leave a set of traffic lights going through the gears 2 blocks away!! Now I know what a homeless person has to listen to when trying to sleep, fortunately for them they probably have ear plugs, unfortunately for me I didn't have any!! You can hear hear garbage trucks emptying bins blocks away, horrible horrible horrible. It's 3.56am and have had enough. Am getting up and going to the airport early, will sleep in the qantas club!! If they fixed the windows it would be fine. I will !!!NEVER!!! stay here again!

We stayed for three nights on the 4th floor. There was some traffic noise however it did not disturb our sleep. Good central location which is close to train and bus services. The room was basic however was very clean and the bed & pillows were comfortable. The free wifi connection was a bonus. All staff were very well dressed, polite and helpful. The lift is very slow however it was easy to use the stairs if we did not want to wait the lift to arrive. Would recommend for anyone who wants somewhere to stay that is basic and affordable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor which will not get as much traffic noise.

Stayed at the hotel for 5nights.The hotel was close to Chinatown and darling harbour around 15-20mins walk. A bit far from circular quay but the hotel is next to the free shuttle service that goes to circular quay. Close to convenience stores and a good Thai restaurant across the street. I stayed at room 405 it was small and basic but all you need is there. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom.staff were very accomodating. Managed to get an early check in and was able to leave my luggage for 5days.

Lift really slow...other than that I had no problems with my stay.

Room Tip: Stayed at room 405 away from the rest of the rooms next to fire exit...was really quiet and comfy be...

We stayed here for 4 nights in March 2013. Facilities are great, rooms are basic but just what you need with comfortable beds and free wifi! Excellent value for money and really helpful and friendly staff on the reception desk too. Would recommend to anyone looking for value for money and central location - it is not a hostel and I'd say comparable with travel lodge in the UK.
