this was the third time i'd been to ombretta, on a busy saturday night. the menu is always full of mouthwatering choices, which great for a small selection. my friend and i shared the buffalo mozzarella starter which was an incredible balance of flavours and textures as it came with house-made pickled onions and a piece of quiche (for want of a better word). i chose a pasta dish for main - with a ricotta-like cheese and pancetta sauce. the pasta is served al dente as was outlined by the friendly waiter. our sides were simple yet spot-on with great flavours. the service is relaxed and friendly and the decor is modern and full of character with a touch of italian such as the clocks all reading the same time for various towns in italy.
i was there with one other and you can hold a conversation which can be difficult in some restaurants with bad acoustics. larger family groups also seemed to be enjoying their time there.
