“Great walking tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

The first time we tried to go on the walking tour there weren't enough people so Lily advised us to go to Manly as it was such a lovely day which we did and had a good time. The next day we went back for the tour and there still weren't quiet enough people but Lily took the tour anyway. It was great and very informative and very friendly as there were only 5 people doing the walk. We passed one of the other tours and the group was huge and very impersonal so wew certainly m,ade the right choice. I would highly recommend you doing the tour.

“Need a minimum number of people to go”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

My husband and I showed up on a week day in May to take the morning tour. No others were available to go, so they didn't hold the tour. We were disappointed and out of luck, as the other tours also leave at the same time, so we had to explore on our own. Did a tour with another company the next day.

Dear Kemazz,
Yes, we need a minimum number of people to run our tour. We rely entirely on tips. This is the reason why we are unable to do a tour for only two people. The minimum number is very small. So, it happens extremely rear that we have to actually cancel a tour.
All Free tours around the world need a minimum number of people to run a tour. This is the only way for us to survive and give you high quality affordable tours.
Kind Regards,
Martin.

“Best Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

This tour was one of the highlights to our stay in Sydney. If you like history and enjoy anecdotal tidbits about people and places this is the tour for you. I also suggest reading about the first fleet arrival and about the Rocks area in general before taking the tour to make the points of interest real. We loved Lily as our guide she really made our day.

“Good low cost overview of Sydney & tips for visiting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

Good tour, easy to spot Lily in her bright orange top & she wore a headset to be heard better amongst the public, traffic etc. You meet at archibald fountain in Hyde Park at 10:30 am. I don't think bookings are required. She made it clear from the outset that people can pay what they believe the tour is worth at conclusion, sadly a European couple approximately in their mid 20's did not contribute at all nor did a single woman taking the tour. Lily is charming & amusing & seems very enthusiastic about what she does, & she certainly knows her history. At times her accent & pace made it a little difficult to follow but I'm sure she would adjust things if I'd asked her to. I would say 10:30 is the best time as the weather's not so intense & you'll have more energy for all the walking involved. We learnt on this tour how egotistical Macquarie was & why so much of Sydney's landmarks/streets etc are named after him, amazing this city wasn't called Macquarie really. Also good info on the Rocks area historically & the Sydney opera house. I'm sure if we'd asked more about the bridge she would have known it. She also had good tips on saving on transport, restaurants, when to do things & what to do etc. I'd recommend the tour.
