Today Observatory Hill is a popular place for tourists and locals to enjoy views of the harbour and Harbour Bridge. But earlier it was the place of first windmill in the colony and Fort Filip after which remains we can see now also. Besides there are also Sydney Observatory, the Signal Station and a Rotunda. Sydney Observatory was built in 1857- 1859 in Renaissance style. The Rotunda was built in 1912 and today sometimes used as a place for weddings.

Lovely setting with a great view across the bridge and the harbour. Well laid our grounds and a relaxing place to go and relax for a while.

For the best views of the Harbour Bridge, this is the spot! There are no directions to get there from The Rocks which is a pity as many visitors would not know how to get there or even that it exists. The space is under utilised and there is not much else to see or do and very few benches to sit down and enjoy the views. A garden cafe would be a nice addition.

Nice place to watch the sun go down, excellent view of the Harbour Bridge and North Sydney, great photo location. Was worth the walk up the hill, take a picnic or a light snack and a friend. Great spot for tourists too.

A great place to position oneself with a beautiful aspect of the Bridge and Harbour. However, this a spot frequented by many foreigners wanting their wedding pictures taken which is an accolade for the spot but can be a nuance.
