We walked to the top of Observatory Hill and had a view of Sydney Harbor Bridge. It is worth the little hike up the hill for the view.

It is a nice experience and you are on top of Sydney, near The Rocks, the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge.

Observatory Hill Park is a fantastic vantage point in the middle of the city. We were walking from the nearby Wynyard Station to the Clyde Bank and on the way, passing this unique place. From here you can enjoy the best panoramic view of the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Harbour. It also gives place to the Sydney Observatory and the Rotunda, from where several people were enjoying the sweeping views opening in front of them. The Rotunda is also famous for accommodating wedding ceremonies.

See the Harbour Bridge from the western side for a great photo opportunity. Make sure you are there to see the Observatory staff drop a time ball at 1pm.

Today Observatory Hill is a popular place for tourists and locals to enjoy views of the harbour and Harbour Bridge. But earlier it was the place of first windmill in the colony and Fort Filip after which remains we can see now also. Besides there are also Sydney Observatory, the Signal Station and a Rotunda. Sydney Observatory was built in 1857- 1859 in Renaissance style. The Rotunda was built in 1912 and today sometimes used as a place for weddings.
