Yes previous reviewers are correct this hotel is fantastic value in Sydney CBD. The 3.5 star rating is correct so Americans complaining that there was no porter to carry bags upstairs have not traveled before. This is great value THREE and A HALF star! (not 5 or boutique lol!)
We stayed on 2nd floor room 201 (photos looking out attached) and the room was quiet. We were not woken by loading or other noise (as previous reviewers have stated) and had a good sleep.
There is a Woolworths directly to the left of the property, McDonalds and other convenience outlets nearby, therefore we didn't eat at Hotel Coronation instead just walked for a quick snack.
The rooms aren't 2012 decor however they are sound and actually more roomy than i expected. On the same business trip I had to visit a colleague @ Novotel Darling Harbour, albeit the Novotel rooms are far superior in style, but if you compare the square meter space of a standard room the Hotel Coronation is great value and more than HALF the price.
One note, I wouldn't recommend for older people or traveling with children due to small lift and attached to a pub, however, think in parameters: Ours were - (1) Excellent Value (2) Excellent location (2) Easy to reach via SYD Airport Train (3) Simple check-in with nice friendly staff (3) Beverages! My wife loved her Pink Mojito from the downstairs bar.
All things considered good luck finding comparable accommodation for $133 AUD in SYD CBD at the Hotel Coronation's standard. Recommended.
