Owner description: Circular Quay is a colorful port where ferries and cruise ships board and depart, and boat watching can be as good a pastime as people watching. While street performers entertain outside, those wanting a more cultural experience can head into the Museum of Contemporary Art where a sculpture garden on the roof is as much a view as the waterways below.

Circular Quay is a focal point of Sydney- on the Harbor, and at the northern edge of the CBD.

It is between the Harbor Bridge and the Opera a House, and the Rocks area is a stroll away.

If you're coming to Sydney as a tourist, it is almost certain you will pass through here, as it is a focal point for public transport.

It's an interesting place to sit at one of the cafés, admire the view, and watch the passing parade.

Also, it's a conduit to other nearby attractions.

Well worth a visit.

This place has it all, train connections, ferry dock, cruise lines, cafés, restaurants, bars and walking distance to the Opera House and The Rocks. There is normally music going on here too from aboriginal dance and songs to other street performers.

I frequently purchase fish and chips at this seafood take away, either before Opera House shows or movie at Dendy. Absolutely delicious and SO affordable, the only issue is to find yourself a seat, which I usually easily found mine around the bus stop. Food could cost your arms and legs around Circular Quay area and not worth your money especially for a quick bite. The fish cocktail here is only $1.60 per pc which I always order 3 to 4pcs. The BBQ baby octopus is also delicious. I highly recommend this down to earth take away and save you heaps. This place is located next to Ferry wharf to Manly.

Circular Quay is a great location to center your visit around in Sydney because you can take the buses, ferries, or train to get around as well as walk to the Harbor bridge, Opera House, and Harbor Bridge. Turn away from the water and walk downtown to the Sky Tower and all the shops and shopping centers hidden in the city.

Sydney has an exceptional water ferry system. There are several quays for all the departures that they handle. The boats are timely, efficient and safe. Service is quite regular until 6pm and then it cuts back-but who wants to take a ferry at nighttime??? You can get to many, many points in Sydney Harbor via the exceptional ferry system.
