My mother and I opted to stay in the low budget room, which was clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and happy to assist in any way, although a dark room with minimal lighting it was comfortable, we wanted a budget room and thats what we got. The lodge was situated in a lovely street and is located in an area that is close to all the main tourist sites. We were able to walk to the Sdney Opera house, then to Paddy's market and back, which was convenient

Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. It's really important to us to hear feedback about Springfield Lodge so we can continually improve the guest experience.

I'm glad to hear you benefited from our Lower Ground Saver rooms. These are really great value and perfect for a short stay in Sydney. It is also great to hear that you found the location convenient, we think it's suitable for all travellers as there you can walk everywhere, but of course there is the train station in Kings Cross which will take you everywhere as well.

We thank you again for leaving your comments and look forward to seeing you again someday soon.

The room had the basics and was clean. Plumbing in vanity was a bit suspect but plenty of hot water. Was reasonably quiet, no issues with traffic noise. Only a short walk to cafes. Lovely breakfast in cafe at the front of the hotel. Staff were very helpful.

Thank you for your comments.

It's always great to hear when a guest has a great stay at Springfield Lodge. I have passed your comments about the vanity on to the maintenance manager to have this looked at, thank you for letting us know about it.

I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed Petrol Cafe at Springfield Lodge, this place really is a big favourite among local Sydneysiders as well as visitors.

Thank you again for your comments, we hope to see you again someday.

certainly interesting, well located and impressive exterior. in it clen and very tidy - but suffers a little internally and some changes could make it superb. Doule premium room fa space - and could fit queen bed which would add to comfort - room feels closed in because of lack of window other than to light well - feel the king room would be better vaue

Thank you for your comments, your feedback is very important to us.

You are quite right, the Double Premium rooms are really just a larger, more spacious version of the Double Room. We do always recommend the King Room if you're not only looking for space but also a very light and airy room. We hope you'll consider one of our King Rooms on your next visit to Springfield Lodge in Sydney.

Thanks again for your feedback.

I stayed here for 3 nights over a long weekend with my boyfriend. We stayed in one of the lower ground rooms which were priced lower than the rest. The hotel building is lovely and is only 5 minutes from Kings Cross Station so it can't be faulted on location. The room was fine - comfy bed, clean bathroom with great shower. Some things about the room were a bit odd, like how the TV faced the wall (not the bed) and the mirrored door of the wardrobe didn't open all the way so you couldn't really use the mirror. On the whole the room was excellent value and was cheaper than many others we looked at with shared bathroom facilities.

The thing that let down our time there was the noise - from outside and from the staff on the lower ground floor (not making excessive noise but the laundry, storage etc is on the LG floor). We had read other reviews that mentioned this so we expected it but we had a very disrupted sleep. It would be even worse in summer when you would want to have the window open.

The cafe at the front of the hotel is excellent - it's clearly very popular with non-guests so we couldn't actually get a table for breakfast on the Sunday but we ate there on the Monday and the food was fabulous.

Overall, it was a great hotel for the price with good service and facilities. The noise was certainly an issue for us but I would recommend the hotel as a whole and hope that the noise wouldn't be an issue on the higher floors.

Hi Emma,

Thanks for your feedback. We're always happy to hear when people enjoy staying at Springfield Lodge. I'm also glad to hear you thought the Lower Ground Saver room type was good value. I'm terribly sorry about the noisy night you sound to have had, being in the city there is always some noise about however there shouldn't be so much that it disrupts your sleep. This must have been frustrating. I've passed your comments on to the housekeeping manager for Springfield Lodge to speak to his team about making noise when close to a guest room.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the fabulous Petrol Cafe, it really is a favourite among locals.

Thanks again for your comments, Emma.

Springfield Lodge is a great place to stay if you just need somewhere clean, safe and right in the middle of town. I stay here when it is going to be a late night and I know catching a cab will be a nightmare. The rooms are small, bathrooms are tiny and weird shapes, but it is clean and safe. The rooms are not "luxurious" but if you want that, pay lots more and stay somewhere else. The reception people are nice and friendly. It can be a bit noisy with the wooden floor boards, but that doesn't worry me.

Room Tip: Bigger the better...

Thank you for your feedback.

It's always great to hear when a guest enjoys their stay at Springfield Lodge. You're right, the location is simply perfect being so close to the best parts of Sydney. I apologise if the larger King Rooms were not available when you booked, these are by far the largest room type at Springfield Lodge, so they tend to be extremely popular and usually book out.

We look forward to seeing you in Sydney again soon.
