“Sinfully Delicious Tarts”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

A group of 8 of us popped in here for coffee and dessert after a sumptuous lunch at Fortune of War Pub, a few meters away on George Street, The Rocks. Sydney.

You will not be disappointed with coffee and tarts here. We tried the lemon tart, chocolate tart, apple taste and macadamia caramel. They were all excellent. Each tart was about AUD8.00 and one tart is enough for two. If you are a large group, I would recommend that you buy a variety of tarts and divide them up so you can get to taste all of them.

The coffee and chai latte are also really smooth and nice. Service is fast.

A good place to unwind and enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee. The cafe also has a rear outdoor.

Worth a visit, especially for those with a sweet tooth.

“Below average food and overpriced”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 via mobile

We ordered a steak sandwich ($20) and a Bacon and egg on sourdough (around $17). I found the portion of the Bacon n egg pitiful. The poached eggs in my plate were either pinched or over cooked. The steak sandwich was bland and the supposedly caramelised onion was barely cooked. Would not come here again.

“Good for breakfast”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

We really enjoyed our breakfast at this cafe. There is nothing bad I can say. It was reasonably priced. The food tasted just fine and the service was excellent. Coffee was one of the better ones I have had in Sydney. Quaint little courtyard added to the experience.

“Tourist trap - overpriced for below-average food”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

This place is so insanely overpriced, I'm regretting that I didn't get up and leave just out of principal.

Sydney cafes and restaurants are typically very affordable and great quality, given the competition, however this place is rorting the prices based on its proximity across from the harbour. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere because as a regular visitor to Sydney, this place is a mockery of Sydney dining.

The front of the bakery gives you the impression that you can buy takeaway pies, pastries and sandwiches, but they encourage you to take a seat out the back for table service. There, you receive the menu that says around $18 for a gourmet pie with chips, which you perceive as having been baked fresh and different from the very average-looking and dry ones sitting in the display. You assume that by taking a menu, the food cooked up will be above what's served in the take-away displays. Wrong.

We ordered a spaghetti bolognaise, which has been frozen and thawed out, leaving it tastless and sitting in a pool of water. I picked a $20 chicken, tomato and avocado panini served with chips, which instead of fresh avocado, was served with the disgusting avocado spread bought in a tub. Being a bakery, I had assumed the panini was freshly baked on site, but no - there were about 100 of them sitting in a giant plastic bag on the floor as you walk in, and they tasted like something I'd bulk buy from Costco. Not a good look for a 'bakery'.

I don't mind paying those prices for food that is of exceptional quality, however this cafe uses cheap and basic ingredients and leaves a lot to be desired. I could have prepared a better meal at home with my eyes shut.

“Yummy Meat Pie”
Reviewed 25 February 2014

It was a cold and rainy day in the Rocks and I was told to go here to have a meat pie. Luckily I got here about 30 minutes before they closed so I was able to get a nice hot meat pie. It definitely felt good eating this after baring the wind and rain. The people were very nice and it was very quiet.
