“Just ok!”

Probably one of my least favorite hostels but loved the customer service. Some washrooms were just horrible. The Rooms were ok but not enough wall adapters ( 2 in a room of 6 people). The location was pretty good, just next to a ATM, mall and the main town streets!

I am always esitant to go to hostels but this one was the best one I have ever stayed. The HYA is located in the centre of Alice Springs, at walking distance from shops and restaurants. Although there are a lot of rooms, the structure is very quiet. The rooms are new and clean, as well as the common spaces. There is a nice swimming pool that you can use, plus a big space to eat (with all the equipment) and a nice space to watch outdoor movies. A very clean, nice and relaxing place. The staff is very kind and helpful. A great experience in Alice Springs!

I stayed here for two nights and it is a great place to stay. It is located close to the the mall, rooms and bathrooms are clean. It was pretty quiet when I was there, I was booked into a 8 share dormitory and only two of us were there. But overall, I enjoyed my stay at the YHA.

We stayed 2 days in YHA hostel in Alice springs. The hostel has the best location in the city centre. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. There is a swimming pool but in the shadow so you don't really wanna go for a swim. We didn't really enjoy our stay because the hostel is quite big and hard to meet new people, everyone does its own thing. Kitchen is clean and there are everything you'll need. The service is not really good, they just give you your key and a map and that's it. I wouldn't recommend this hostel for the one who wanna meet people, but I would recommend it for a short stay like us, directly in the centre of the town.

I stayed at Alice Springs YHA for 2 weeks while in Alice Springs and it was a great place to stay.
There were full time cleaners working all day cleaning rooms , doing laundry and cleaning the kitchen - so it was very clean and tidy.

There is also a big lounge room where you can hire (for free) movies from the reception to watch on them rainy or boring nights.

Theres a decent sized swimming pool which is perfect after a long day of sight seeing , and the place had a quite , relaxed feel to it.

Rooms and beds were clean (I stayed in the 4 bed dorms) and I'm not sure how many people the YHA accommodates but i counted 13 showers and 13 toilets in the place , so if your ever busting to go to the loo , well , this place is perfect for you haha!!!

Overall , great hostel , very clean and affordable ($28 per night for a 4 bed / $22 for a ... i think 20 bed dorm).

One thing I would like to say though is , its defiantly not a party hostel. Its quiet , relaxed and seems to attract a 25 year old and older crowd. If you want a Party hostel , head to Annies Hostel which is 7 minutes walk from the city centre .... and avoid Toddys hostel at all costs. Its the Dirtiest hostel in town.

Hope this helps ,
Have fun!!!

Room Tip: The 4 and 8 bed dorms are well priced and comfortable. I did see the 20+ man dorm. It was the pretti...

I stayed in a 12 bed shared room, there were some workers staying in it for weeks, they had to get up early, thus waking me up, note that workers are allowed to stay only up to 14 days, but the management allowed them to stay, also, the room was untidy, and the management did do anything about it, you could trip over and break your neck! Some of the doors of the storage cabins beneath the beds, were open and also created a hazard at night. I got a top bed, and it didn't have a climbing stair case, so, I struggled getting into it. Also, because there are so many people, there were not enough bathrooms, and usually I had to queue to use one.

I stayed in this YHA the night before and two nights after my Red Rock Tour. Even though the yha package usually puts you in the biggest dorm available, I was put in a 4 bed dorm by myself. I had been driving a lot so this was a very nice surprise free of extra charge. The hostel is located in the center of The Alice and has decent facilities even though some are a little aged. The rooms have good aircon units and the newer bath rooms are more than okay. The old ones need an upgrade. Overall good experience
