Gemtree Cabins and Caravan Park
Reviewed 16 July 2013

In the brochures and on their website, the owners of this park freely admit that this is a bush caravan park; the power goes off every night from 10:30 til 06:30; it also mentions that the hot water service is operated by a wood burning 'mule' heater, and as such, may from time to time run out of hot water.....it also says that while their ablution block was modest (i think they actually used the term basic), that it was always clean....we stayed at this park for 2 days last week, and delighted in the honesty and integrity of this young family. The spot is 70km off the main highway, but worth every second of the trip...this park does not pretend to be something it's not, not like some of the so-called 'resorts' further down, and as such, our time here was far more enjoyable. we didn't go fossicking, but certainly enjoyed Kates Campoven dinner on Saturday night.

We stayed here with 2 families for four days. We went fossicking at the Garnet fields on a tag along tour. Kids and Adukts both had an awesome time. This park is in the middle of no where off the Plenty Highway. We also had a wonderful camp oven roast dinner whilst there. Generator power which runs from 6:30am-10pm everyday was no issue for us. Loved the place and would visit again. Amenitites were clean and tidy.
