We were staying in the hotel nearby and were tired so we decided to go to the red ochre restaurant as it was next door. The hotel had signs to say that if we booked in for dinner (book before 6pm and eat before 7pm), we get a 20% discount but when I rang the restuarant to make a booking they had no idea what I was talking about, so I rang the reception at the hotel and they made the booking for me, the downside was that as part of the deal we had to eat in the courtyard outside not inside in 40 degree heat. (even though the tables inside were empty). We went down for a few drinks before dinner but found that they don't offer cocktails which was a bit disappointing as they also only had a few wine choices none of which I was familiar with, so I stuck to drinking spirits. The service was ok, not great but not really bad, they weren't very familiar with the menu or drinks options and we got different people coming to us not the same waitress each time. We heard the waitresses talking to other tables and telling them that they had run out of damper and also some other items so we then had to reassess what we were going to order. We had the corned beef ($28) and ribs ($30 approx), both of these were good meals. With drinks it came to over $100.
