Kings Canyon is a great place to visit in the cooler Weather. Great scenery and walking. Resort staff were always helpful and in good spirits. Food in the BBQ area was great, try the Kangaroo, breakfast a bit ordinary. The rooms were good, The external areas are in need of a bit of attention. Sunsets are great

Kings Canyon is very remote and this is the ONLY place to stay in the area. Luckily it is also an excellent place to stay. The rooms are large and well appointed. There was a delightful jacuzzi in my room and that was very welcomed. The rooms are an easy walk from the restaurants.
The staff are nice and the scenery of Kings Canyon a wonderful place to visit.

So we had been camping for 3 weeks around NT before we pulled into the resort. My partner and I were travelling with friends who had two kids. We have swags and camping gear. They were booked out of powered sites but they did have unpowered the receptionist then suggested a cabin. We thought why not sleep in a bit of comfort for one night. For a room with a double bed it was around $120 and for our friends for a double and three singles it was $130. We got to our rooms and they were like dorms we had to use the shared amenities. The tv didn't work, the heater was to loud to keep on, the linen had stains, the beds moved easily causing one of the kids to fall down the side of the bed, they had a small shared kitchen for the rooms but because it was small it was always being used. Spiders in rooms and the beds sloped in so we woke up with sore backs. As I dropped my key off I asked what exactly are we paying for in that room? She said the room itself the bed tv fridge. We explained to her all the problems we had. All in all an absolute waste of money do not stay in a "cabin" They need to review there rooms and have the cabins as budget accommodation if I had of seen what I was staying in before I booked I would have said no.

Thank-you for your review.
Your accommodation was a budget room for backpackers with shared facilities in the Campground. I apologise if this was not communicated to you properly.
I believe if you had have stayed in our Standard or Deluxe rooms in the Resort your experience would have been a lot better.

My wife and I stayed there for a night as participants of a Scandinavian group.
The resort consists of small detached cabins spread over resort area. The rooms were simple, but they functioned well, cleanliness oK. It was quite a bit of walk to the local restaurant to have dinner and breakfast. This was a bit scary as we heard and saw dingos close to the resort.
Food OK.
We went for a walk in the Kings Canyon area - the flies were horrible - do remember to bring with you a flinet!!

Thank-you for your feedback. I am glad you found the resort to your liking.
I can appreciate that you were a little nervous about the Dingoes but this is all part of the outback experience that many people enjoy.

Stayed for one night in spa room- nice relaxing room with private view from spa. Reception staff very helpful and clearly outlined our walking options for our limited time in area. Chose resort walk to stretch legs after journey and Rim Walk in the early morning after checkout- pleasant surprise of $50 credit for petrol etc. views from summit and topography of rock formation stunning and well worth the initial steep climb.
We chose the intimate Sounds of Silence dinner by open fire $99 - champagne reception included but drinks with meal extra. Set meals were beautifully lovely presented by hosts in relaxed, honoured setting. A lovely end to a wonderful day.

A highlight of our trip which I wished we had stayed longer. From our initial welcome at reception by informative staff giving you all the info on those things you often have to ask for first - to the great dining experience of dining under the stars with the Sounds of Silence even with no moon it was fantastic. But remember it does get cold quick in the desert take a warm top as the fire does not keep your back warm.
I would recommend a spa room, after a long day on the road looking out through that huge window was a great relaxing experience. The small balcony and watching the sun rise highlighting the rocky view was just as rewarding.
Breakfast had enough variety for most people, with the regular hot dishes available (mushrooms were good) the fresh fruit was a lovely surprise especially when you consider the location with only one road in and out.
We'll definitely be looking at a return visit in the future.

Room Tip: Check the location of the spa room. A/C units in the spa rooms are on an end of 4 units which may h...

The Kings Canyon resort is a very well run and comfortable establishment. Considering where it is located (almost dead centre of Australia), and the lack of any public infrastructure it is amazing how comfortable ... even luxurious... the accommodation is. All power and water are produced on site (solar primarily for power, and bores for the water) and rooms have excellent heating / air conditioning and hot water for showers. The spa room is beautiful - you need to appreciate the desert scenery. Staff are friendly, helpful, and very professional. Meals are very good and reasonable value for money. And Kings Canyon itself is a fantastic ... don't miss the whole experience.
