Recently stayed 3 nights in a deluxe rock view room (we were unexpectedly upgraded from a deluxe room without view) and I really could not fault it. The room was spacious, clean and very very comfortable. The online photos really do not do it justice, and I really do not understand some of the negative reviews it has had. The staff were fabulous, friendly, professional and extremely helpful. The grounds were lovely and the whole place just had a really nice, friendly, comfortable feel to it. Would most definitely recommend. Uluru is not a cheap place to visit, so you must be aware of this and factor this in. Having said that, meals and drinks weren't too bad at all price wise, and quality was great.

Room Tip: The whole complex is quiet and has a real relaxed feel about it. I would highly recommend room with rock view.

Stayed here for 2 nights and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Check in was easy the apartment quite large and clean. We didn't have the view of Uluru that some rooms have but you get to see it close up anyway during the day and so it didn't matter. Breakfast was good with a big choice of food. Would recommend you stay here.

We were a bit concerned about the accommodation in the NT due to reviews downgrading many. However we greatly enjoyed the care, support and service of DGs hotel. Cleanliness and comfort would be two important words. Probably an upgrade would have been good but the cost was not really worth it as most of the time you are only in your room to sleep with the curtains drawn!! One thing that really would help travellers, as the cost of accommodation is high, would be to have available the use of a microwave in the units. Without it you are very much captive to the prices and food costs in the Hotel or town. We greatly enjoyed however the inclusion of brekky and found that relaxing and good staff care. One person who had come over from another hotel to assist was a gentleman named ROBERT. He was very thoughtful and attentive and we hope the management acknowledges his genuine care and interest in people. A great gift Robert!
Would we go back to this Hotel. Yes certainly as our experience was very positive. Thanks everyone.

We had low expectations of the hotel because of the poor reviews it's received, & were therefore surprised & delighted at the real thing.
The staff, check-in, cleanliness & comfort of the room, and the breakfast, were all exceptionally good. The exterior of the rooms, balconies, stairs etc. weren't perfect, but by no means dangerous or unacceptable in any other way. The gardens more than made up for that anyway.
The staff we encountered could not have been more helpful, all seemed happy in their work & doing a great job.
The breakfast at White Gums was sensational .. I can't imagine anyone could possibly want for more.
The room we enjoyed was an upstairs room, & we had a view of Uluru from the balcony, which was special. However the other rooms scattered throughout the gardens & by the pool, all appeared to have something special going for them also .. the privacy of a garden courtyard .. or the proximity to the pool & other facilities .. or a quieter location away from the road .. etc.
Our room was well equipped & very comfortable.
If all the rooms are like the one we stayed in, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Desert Gardens to anyone.
To those who expect 5 star city hotel conditions in outback Australia .. take a deep breath, & relax into this different & very special environment.
