“Great for the money.....”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Had a 2 bedroom fully self contained apartment for the V8 super car weekend. It was neat, tidy and uncluttered. Both the bedrooms were air-conditioned (split systems) but the large lounge / dining was not but did not need to be. Everything you would need was supplied and the staff were polite and helpful. The 2 pools and grounds were well cared for and quiet. It's location was just a few minutes walk to the buses for Hidden Valley or into Darwin centre. The Saturday morning Parap market across the road is a great way to start the day for breakfast (Don't miss that) and the pub up the road (Pickled Parrot) does great meals as does the Yacht club that is a 15 minute walk down to the water. Everything else you need is in the Parap centre, post office, fast food, great coffee and so on.
A downside was with 4 of us showers had to be kept short as the water would run cold but would reheat within 30 - 45 mins. The kitchen table being cane was a bit rickety and the lounge wasn't something you could relax in.

Room Tip: Our room was on the first level, perhaps being a bit quieter there. I do not think I would have been...

I stayed here to 3 nights and didn't want to leave. It was quiet and relaxing. We had a possum come to our veranda every night which was exciting, It was tame and let us touch it. I stayed in a 2 bedroom room, downfall we had 2 couples staying and they gave us a double bed and in the other room were 2 single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals all you need to add is the food. The furniture could be updated but it did the job. The room was also cool with the air cons and fans and the bathroom was spacious and everything worked well. The veranda over looked the pools and also had a fan outside, overall the room was very spacious for 4 adults and I was very happy with my stay.
The Parat markets are directly over the road and a couple of pubs and places to eat only a few minutes walk. great location.

We 8 of us up here for work have been stopping here for over a month now , there seems to be an area set aside for holiday makers and an era for people up here on work , that's not a bad idea . I have found the staff to be very helpful land the amenities to fit our needs perfectly , cooking ,washing, pools and close to the Parap pub and shopping centre with several take away outlets . The rooms are kept well but we all know it's not the Hilton if it was it would be triple the price . Parking is as secure as you will get with a key to auto gates catering for large cars . We will be staying on .

Fantastic location, being right across the road from the Parap Markes, not far from town either. Great pools and bbq facilities in the tropical gardens, however lets itself down with the outdated furniture. The cane furniture in the living areas was extremely old and uncomfortable. It made relaxing in the rooms less pleasant.

Room Tip: The deluxe suites offer better decor and location

We stayed in a std 2br apartment. The room was spacious and had what we required for our stay.
The pool area which actually has 2 pools was good and our kids enjoyed it. There is a play ground for very small kids that our youngest played in and had loved it.
The bathroom does need a facelift but it had did the job. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked a few nights. Both bedrooms were large and the aircon cold. The parking wax shaded but unsecured. No drama.
With the days of Darwin having good value options getting less and less we would definitely return to stay at the rate we got on Wotif.

I have just spent 10 days in Darwin as a carer for someone staying in hospital. I didn't know how long I was staying but the staff were excellent allowing me to call from the hospital and just extend my stay day by day. Their great attitude made my stay much easier. The apartments felt like staying in the Darwin of old. Great location, nice apartment and the service was second to none. Thanks Parap Apartments - you rock.

We had two 10 day stays at Parap Village Apartments during September. On our first night, we wokeup to a cockroach in the bed, and the rest of our stay continued to be plagued by them. On our arrival for the second stay the faucet in the bathroom was detched from the pipe, rendering it unusable and sending water through the bathroom cabinet onto the floor. The housekeeping services were well below the expected standard, and I found paying for additional washing powder somewhat insulting. Cheap and convenient location.
