Clean, close to airport and perfectly adequate. But why in such a hot climate can't the hotel offer free cold water? The only cold drinking water that was offered was bottled and there was no ice to be found to chill our wine. An ice machine and or a pitcher of water in the fridge would be a welcome addition.

This hotel is close to Darwin airport and provides free airport shuttle which is great. Rooms are large and modern with coffee making, free (cable) internet, they'll supply a cable if you ask. It's next door to a pub where you can get meals, there's no restaurant in the hotel. Give that its so close to the airport you're not close to shopping etc. I enjoyed staying here but would prefer being closer to the action.

I stayed here for four nights over the last weekend and was very happy. Not flash but comfortable and very clean and well located for my purposes. The cold beer and lovely lunches from the pub next door were very welcome. I took the courtesy coach to the airport at the crack of dawn on my last day which was great. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: My room faced McMillans Road but I was not disturbed by any noise.

This is a very conveniently located motel near the airport. The staff are really friendly and there is a free pick up service from the airport. A pub next door has a good dining area. I was pleased when I checked in that my room was far away from the pub, as I was a bit worried about late night noise. However. my room looked over a car park and a cemetery and all night a group of drunken locals somewhere out the back yelled and swore so that sleeping was impossible. I really did not need my early morning wake-up call as I had not slept at all. So - if you want proximity to the airport - this is great, but if you need to sleep then I would go somewhere else.

We stayed at the Best Western for one night. The complimentary shuttle arrived very quickly after we telephoned the hotel (Note: There is no complimentary phone bank for hotels so be sure to have a 50 cent coin ready). All staff members were professional and friendly. Our room was quite nice with a double bed, work desk with chair and an additional chair. It also had a balcony with table & chairs (but it was too hot to sit outside). There was complimentary internet and a variety of TV/Movie channels. There was also a mini-fridge as well as complimentary tea/coffee. There is a bottle shop next to the hotel which came in handy to purchase a bottle of wine. There is a petrol station nearby which has a mini-market. In summary, the Best Western provides quality accommodation with complimentary shuttle to/from the airport.

We stayed there twice after a late and before an early flight and were perfectly happy with it. Clean, nice bathroom, comfy bed, all good. Plus they offer couresy pick-up from the airport, so as soon as you need to get from the airport to the hotel you give them a call and they'll pick you up within minutes. They also take you to the airport for free. Receptionists were helpfull with recommandations such as where to go for dinner. You get discount as a hotel guest in the bistro next to it.

We stayed here at the end of a week long work trip and found that it was one of the more affordable places to stay with a family.

We stayed in the family room and found the fittings, facilities, kitchenette, small balcony and most importantly air con - first class. Room service was very thorough and the pool and pool side service are excellent - although at least partial shade over the pool would be helpful to those wanting to swim during the day.

The free internet would be handy if you had a Ethernet connection but with just Wi-Fi devices we couldn't take advantage of it. The suggestion that due to cyclone ratings Wi-Fi can't be provided is a furphy. Plenty of hotels in Darwin (and the NW of WA) do provide Wi-Fi and this hotel could readily provide (on request) Wi-Fi Ap's to plug into the ethernet connection to provide Wi-Fi to each room should they want too.

As mentioned by others this motel is close to the airport, but really in the big country town that is Darwin, where isn't? A taxi from the CBD takes 15 mins at most and a taxi from this motel takes 5 mins. However the locality of this Hotel is in a cultural wasteland (by foot) but it is EXCEPTIONALLY close to a pub next door.

Now for the noise.
The upside of the pub is that its a nice modern pub, providing food and drink to cater for most tastes the downside is that on Friday and Saturday nights it can be very noisy till late if your room is adjacent to the pub. With young kids we found this to be quite annoying and if you happened to be here on business over the weekend, sleep before midnight might be near impossible with the bass of the music pounding through even these cyclone resistant walls.

That said with the right room selection (those on the western side of the motel) noise would be greatly reduced.

Overall the quality, service and price of this place still deserves a 4 star rating from me. With a hire car the locality is still close to everything Darwin has to offer :)

Room Tip: Pick the western facing rooms or those viewing over the pool area for less noise from the pub that i...
