Lake alexander is a quiet place to enjoy a relaxed moment in Darwin. You can swim at the lake or just lay under some tree.

On a warm Darwin day you often feel like stretching out on the grass and enjoying a lazy day, reading a good book, enjoying a great picnic lunch, engaging in interesting conversation with friends. Well, if this fits you then head out towards East Point Reserve, and before you get there you'll find yourself passing Lake Alexander. Placid water, shady trees and soft grass - while over the road the expanse of Darwin Harbour. Stop off and take time to smell the roses.

If you're worried about crocs and stingers in the harbour, this is the place for you. There's also great play equipment for the kids, lots of shade and barbeques. Great spot for a picnic.

Lake Alexander is a swimming hole but personally I wouldn't swim there. We use the park and BBQ area and its fantastic.
