“Four week stay”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

Great location for the CKD and the waterfront. Good access to the bus station and other transport links. Rooms of a good size and kept clean and tidy.

Try not to get a room at the back of the hotel as there is a back packers across the street that can be very noisy. Not the hotels fault!!

I stayed here for business for 3 nights.
It's located near the centre of town and within about 15 mins from airpor (by car).
Check-in was ok.
Rooms- nicely appointed with water views, full kitchen, ensuite, linen and basic room service items.
Room service- I didn't use.
Restaurant and bar- great food and service! (great gluten free options)
Location- opposite the water and in front of the main strip - restaurants, pubs, night life and plenty of backpackers! It may not be the safest place to walk alone at night...
Overall it was nice and I'd stay again.

We have just spent a week in a one bedroom apartment & are very happy with our choice. From booking to our departure everyone was helpful. Reading reviews for Darwin hotels I was worried about what to expect prior to arrival.
The apartment was spacious with a large balcony overlooking the harbour. We were on the eighth(top) floor which provided a fantastic view day & night. The room was nicely decorated & the small kitchen provided everything we needed when not eating out. The bathroom looked slightly dated with the shower over the big bath but was nice all the same. This may be an issue for some people & should be considered if stepping in & out could be a challenge. The location is great with easy access to the park with walking or bike paths & the entertainment/shopping areas of the CBD. There is a supermarket 2 minutes walk away meaning you would not need transport if just looking to rest & relax. While we were initially concerned we were unable to access the secure car park facility we quickly realised this was no issue. If the free hotel car park is not vacant we would park on the streets. 5pm to 8am was free. During the day we were often out & not requiring a park. Twice we parked on the street overnight & moved our car into the hotel free parking by 8 as they became vacant. Parking all day on the street was only $6 if required. We were quite happy with this & did not feel the car was at risk at any time. We paid $1.50 for the entire week compared to the hotel fee of $15/day for undercover parking. Parking inspectors did patrol the street regularly booking cars if no ticket provided.
All staff were friendly & eager to assist. The housekeeping staff did a great job which we appreciated.
Staying in a hotel is a luxury for us & Mantra on the Esplanade did not disappoint! Thanks to all!

Room Tip: High floor on harbour side gives best view.

Have just returned from a 3 day stay prior to boarding the Ghan. We had a 1 bedroom Harbour view apartment for 3 persons. Apartment was very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. A walk out the back entrance and you are in Mitchell street with many eateries and nearby supermarket.

Excellent service from the restaurant staff when we ordered a take away breakfast between 5.45 and 6.00 am. prior to a day trip we were going on at 6.20. Restaurant breakfast on the other two mornings was nice.

Bathroom was a bit tired but quite ok.
Nice walking along the esplanade in the "cool" of the evening .

We stayed for three nights after our Ghan Railway trip from Adelaide. We found our room was everything we were looking for spacious, well appointed with beautiful harbour sunsets. Staff were very helpful and friendly making sure we made the most of our time in Darwin. We enjoyed the positive relaxed environment of the hotel. Fully recommend a stay here.

We stayed here for 3 nights with a wheelchair accessable booking.
We were given a ground floor 3 bedroom apartment which was perfect, it had washing machine and dryer.
The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and the food was excellent, both breakfast and bar food.

Having arrived to this hotel I asked the hotel manager for a porter or someone to help us with our luggage. I had sprained my ankle and was able to put much weight on it. Mukul informed me there was no porter and he cant help me. Behind the front desk there was a kind Nepalese boy who offered to help me and he asked Mukul to mind the desk. Mukul then informed me this is the one off time we are going to help you! These words exactly. Being over 75 with a sprained ankle I wonder are disabled people able to visit this hotel as it is certainly not fit to disabled individuals needs.

I was offered a room with a faulty toilet that was leaking and was so exhausted I just wanted to sleep. Mukul with his wise words informed me it was sunday and hes not a plumber! wow being so shocked by his behaviour and leaving the next day I was too tired to per sue this. Disgrace!

Had a bad sleep and would never come back again. The location was good, however not have breakfast at this hotel so can not comment. The rooms were average. However with a manager with that behaviour and attitude like Mukul you cant help but question the quality and standard of this hotel.
