“worst hotel of our vacation”

terrible lights. You can't read at the table, as there are no lights near the table. There were two bedlamps, so, in principle, you could read while lying on the bed. Alas, one of the two had a broken bulb, a standard model, but the reception could not replace it. Continental breakfast was advertised with croissants and fruit salad; there were no croissants, and the fruit salad consisted only of melons. Air conditioning could not be turned low enough. Wifi prices were much too high.

On the up side, our room on the first floor was quiet.

Unfortunately it was also pretty rank: it smelled like there was either something growing under the carpet or in the air conditioning, or the ghost of many, many years of cigarettes in the carpet. Bathroom was tiny and had no exhaust fan: you could fog up the room by running hot water in the sink for a few minutes.

We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Both meals were buffets and neither was inspiring. When the best part of dinner is a prepackaged, commercial bakery muffin, you know you're not exactly on a winner.

For one night, it did the job, but I wouldn't be keen to stay longer, or come back.

Room Tip: Try another hotel.

Staff were very obliging and polite, I booked at the last minute and they were happy to discount the room, room was clean although very dated. Location good given the price, I was in room 207 and it was quiet bar the odd door slam. the other residents were working class, I should note that this hotel is probably preferred by companies housing flying workers due to the amount of high vis dressed people and also the communications I had with other residents. The restaurant had a good ambience and the staff very polite, the food was below average and I had been advised of that by other residents.
overall a good experience but maybe eat out.

Room Tip: maybe higher up as there is a pub below ground level and it could get noisy.

We stayed at this hotelin May and found it a little out of the way althoughit was still a walkable distance to. Darwin's city centre. The room was a reasonable size and quite clean. Unfortunately first impressions of this hotel were not good as the reception area is very tired looking. The pool was quite small. The restaurant was also extremely poor charging $28ph for an all you could eat meal. This sounded reasonable until we saw the food which was extremely basic. Would never eat there again and probably not stay there again either.

I've stayed twice at this hotel. The first was in a 'city view' room on level 3. All good. Spacious, clean and quiet. I think I got it a bit cheaper than normal so it was good value for money.
The second time was a few days later in a 'çabana' room next to the pool. This room was in need of a bit of a update with everything appearing to be a bit tired. The bathroom was very small. Had a bit of noise about 10pm with the 'lets throw the screaming drunken girls in the pool" scenario which went on for a while but that was about it. Would only recommend this type of room if you were a smoker wanting to take advantage of being able to go and sit outside you room.

Great view from the rooftop dining area at sunset but like much of this hotels appearance it's a bit tired and could do with a bit of an update. We did hesitate at eating in the restaurant but being too lazy to walk in search of fodder elsewhere we found the food was good/sufficient, given the buffet style from the trusty Bain Marie.

I've stayed in quite a few Darwin Hotels over the years and this is fairly standard of the choice without paying a ridiculous price. The laid back, easy going Territory style can often be used an excuse for poor service and quality in Darwin hotels however after my couple nights stay I'd recommend this place.
Prices given for this hotel varied considerably from site to site so shop around.

Hotel very dated but rooms quite good for cost although I would not recommend the restaurant or either breakfast, lunch or dinner as very is very average and often only just warm and not at a cheap price.

Three nights in this unfriendly and unfortunately smelly hotel. If we hadn't prepaid we would have moved. Internet charges were extortionate and wifi signal was very poor. There were some suspicious stains on the carpet in corridor to our room. Only redeeming factor bottle shop in site.
