It's not many restaurants where the chef can throw eggs and rice at you and still give you a great evening, but this is the one!

We (myself, my wife and our 9 year old foodie son) were looking for a good night out in a restaurant after a very bad experience at an expensive (and known) restaurant the night before. We decided Teppanyaki would be fun and we weren't disappointed.

From the person who say "we'll be waiting for you" when we made the booking to the Teppanyaki chef who was fun and entertaining, the staff were cheerful and friendly but also knew the food they were serving. The preparation is a big part of the entertainment with a Teppanyaki meal but the quality of the cooking didn't suffer for all the showmanship. We had the least expensive of the Teppanyaki set menus and all the food (chicken, beef, prawns plus fried rice and veg) featured lovely fresh ingredients cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife is allergic to prawns and with no fuss at all they substituted a fillet of fish and were very careful not to let anything "prawnish" touch the rest of my wife's meal.

We're looking forward to going back but deciding between another Teppanyaki or trying the sushi (which looked great) is going to be a problem!

Oh, and the throwing of rice and eggs is part of the show and great fun...but don't wear your best clothes!

Food is good, no complaints there, but the total bill was about double I'd expect to pay really. Some might find the personality chef annoying...

The food is not bad, but this is not an authentic japanese restaurant. All staff, from chefs to waiters are chinese. And the chef wants to be funny with his jokes, but is rude. And if you do not want to be covered in food avoid the open grill where he cooks for you. He will spry you with eggs, rice and whatever else on purpose. He probably thinks it is funny.
And if you are a lady you will find his jokes offensive.
Overall the food is good, but very very overpriced.

Its a busy Japanese restaurant 5 minutes out of the Brisbane CBD and walking distance to China town, with parking right next door.
Friendly staff ,but an ordinary Japanese restaurant , quite expensive for average Japanese fare.
The menu is extensive .
Our guests frequent Japanese restaurants and they felt that quality was not up to the prices.
we had Prawn rolls, sashimi,Beef Teriyaki,Chicken Kariaagi [ordinary]
The drinks menu was ok with fair restaurant prices. For real Japanese you can do better

The very good food and very good service was enhanced by the chef and owner of the restaurant, Da Shan Wang, who is a culinary comedic genius!

With a large group out for a work dinner we opted for this tepanyaki place to combine a bit of entertainment with our meal. The chef was hilarious!

He was there for our entertainment but enjoyed himself, just the same. His fantastic personality was infectious and he had the whole group in stitches! Even if he had to leave us to attend the sushi bar between courses, he was still making jokes and being generally entertaining from the other side of the room. His signature catchphrase being a self-afacing to his Japanese origin, loud "herro", delivered with superb comedic timing.

Oh, and the food was delicious, best teriyaki chicken I have ever enjoyed.
