“Good suburban Italian restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2013 via mobile

A family dinner to celebrate Miss 11's birthday. Closed on Mondays so the place was very busy for a Tuesday night.
Service attentive and friendly if a little haphazard.
My veal scaloppini al fungi was well cooked- a little too creamy for my taste. My husband had one of the seafood special dishes (see photo)- he enjoyed it but would have liked a finger bowl.
We did have to return a salad that wasn't up to par but otherwise a lovely evening. Prices are a little elevated for a suburban restaurant but the quality and portion sizes are generous.

“Proper Italian quality”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2013

A large group of us went for dinner and all enjoyed the pasta and seafood.
Portions are not enormous but more than adequate. The whitebait and seafood was excellent, well cooked and nicely presented.
unfortunately, like Kis Cucina that was there before them, they have a problem with service, which did not do justice to the meals prepared. So many restaurants seem to struggle when they have a busy night.
Prices are not cheap with mains mainly $30+, but being a wine BYO makes the overall cost more palatable.

“Bravo Paolo! BUONISSIMO”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2013 via mobile

With great delight at having finally found Paolo Pinci again my Mamma and I dined at Il Viale.
Decorated with simple rustic furniture - fabric tablecloths and napkins with a few Italian decorator pieces Il Viale is bright, clean and welcoming.
Smartly dressed in black and white the young Italian wait staff greeted us warmly.
There are tables inside or out- the restaurant is BYO and licensed with a range of wine and spirits available.
The menu offers a range of classic and new Italian dishes including Paolo's famous signature dishes.
Daily specials also provide variety and choice if you're a regular.
My Italian Mamma had the Fritto Misto and declared it to be delicious. I had the grilled Barra - divine. Side dishes of Insalata Verde - fresh / crisp and dressed in the authentic manner. Crisp potato wedges - yum!
Merlo coffee is always a great way to end a good meal.
We can't wait to go back- loved it!!

“Best Italian in western Brisbane”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2013

This is a new Italian addition to the Graceville already impressive eating selection. Il Viale's Roman style of quality italian food where freshness and flavour are never compromised has made this restaurant a highly recommended destination. The whole experience is authentic with wait staff Alberto and Luca adding to the charm.

After a antipasti platter, the veal fungi has become my personal favourites.

Yes, the train opposite regularly clattering by is a minor distraction for the outdoor diners, but certainly not a deterrent from taking in this great italian experience.

Prices are fair considering the quality of the food and service.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2012

We went for Saturday lunch and were the only people there for most of the time. The service was therefore friendly and attentive. I had panfried salmon and my wife had roast pork. Both were beautifully cooked. We finished with pear tart au tatin which was excellent. The wine list wasn't extensive but appeared quite well chosen.
Some of the furnishings are in need of refurbishment but we would be happy to go back there.
