My self and my boyfriend stay here for 2 nights while in Brisbane. The place was very welcoming and seemed I have a Lot of chilled people there. We were shown to our room is the back house and was pretty standard double room. The back house had a nice living area and a reasonable sized kitchen with everything you need. Got chatting to some guys who had been there for 3 months. As they are in a residential area you have to stay quiet in the evening but everyone just chills out with a drink around the tables then goes out later. Bathroom was lovely and very big.
Overall we had a very nice stay there and would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet calm stay in Brisbane.

I stayed 2 nights in one of the double bed room with my husband (we were in town to get our music album mastered). The room was really tiny and quite dirty with stains on the carpet. The a/c was not working. The worse part was that our room (room 1 to be exact) was just next to the common toilet, bathroom and kitchen. I'm guessing the walls are made of partitions and therefore we could practically hear every door opening/closing, people chatting in the kitchen etc. Basically, we couldn't sleep in peace both nights.

I wouldn't recommend this place for couples and people who are looking for a quite place to recharge. Parking can be a problem too as there were limited lots along the road.

However, this place might appeal to young backpackers, hippies, people on a tight budget and people who love mingling / making new friends from all over the world. :)

Room Tip: Avoid Room 1

You have to walk creepy road to get there. It was small, had only one bathroom.
Not so friendly climate. And the room had odd smell (probably from other users who stayed quite long.) The worst part was you have to walk up all the stairs with your luggage.
Kitchen were fine, and they had refrigerator in room. That was good. But if I ever travel Brisbane, I won't choose to stay here.

This place is in a lovley old building and the rooms are well sized. When we first arrived they had messed up our booking and only booked for one guest not two. This was a little annoying but eventually worked in our favour getting a double room after a couple of nights in different rooms. The one major thing that spoils this place is long term residents, the dorm rooms especially the all girl room I stayed in was so full of luggage and clothes there was no where for my things. The fridges are in the room and when food went missing it didnt make you feel very comfortable in the room. Also there is a general feeling you are staying in the long term residents space so not very welcoming!
