It was a busy Sunday evening at la dolce vita which added to the atmosphere of the restaurant, lots of large family groups. Our food was authentically Italian, delicious base to the pizza, sensational meat pasta, tasty salad and bruschetta. As it was winter, the glass sliding doors were all in use and the heaters were on, but on a tropical summer evening it would be wonderful to sip a glass of wine while taking in the sights. Our only gripe was that the dessert took a long time to arrive. Would definitely return.

We had actually planned to eat at a different restaurant at Milton that was just too busy, so we found a park just around the corner and found our way to La Dolca Vita. The staff were friendly and welcoming and took our orders quickly. Our meals arrived in good time and were very tasty. I had salmon which was cooked perfectly and was quite a large piece. The atmosphere had a great vibe with television screens for World Cup matches, but as there was no sound, it was not imposing. Large outdoor heaters provided warmth for sheltered alfresco dining on a windy night. We were very pleased with the price of our meals which represented great value for money. We would definitely come again.

Visited this restaurant with an overseas guest last week for dinner. All was going well, until our main course was served, then the service disappeared. No one came to check on our meals, or top up water, or take more drink orders, or clear our plates, or ask if we'd like dessert or coffee. I noticed that after about 8pm, every diner at the few other tables occupied, also had to wave to get staff attention. The actual food was pleasant. Shame about that tv screen - odd for a supposed 5 star dining experience.

Very good breakfasts, priced well and quick to arrive. The venue was quaint and the staff were friendly. The coffee was excellent, one of the best I've ever had at a cafe anywhere. Great overall, highly recommended.

We've been going to La Dolce Vita Caffe since it first opened over 20 years ago but this was the first time we've dined in the adjacent restaurant of the same name. Maybe some confusion stems from the almost identical look and appearance as both have the same canopy and tables. Despite the restaurant being full - we took the last table - service was efficient and everything arrived with just the right interval between courses. 1 starter, 4 mains, 3 desserts, 3 coffees, 3 baby Prosecco's and a bottle of Margaret River Chardonnay later, all of which we enjoyed, the bill was $220 or just $55 each. After some eye watering experiences elsewhere I now consider that to be good value after the rapid rise in the cost of eating out over the last few years. And whatever the problems the Caffe may have, it doesn't appear to have affected the Ristorante the Friday night we were there. 4 very contented diners.
