We booked two 2 bedroom apartments (well in advance) and asked for them to be on the same floor as we were spending the weekend together as a family.
When we arrived we were given a room on floor 8 and one on floor 11. We told the check in receptionist that we had requested rooms on the same floor, but were told that it was not possible. So we went to our separate floors.
To go to see each other we had to catch the lift down to reception and ask them to buzz us up to the other floor. It was extremely inconvenient.
One of the two bedroom apartments had the 2nd bedroom and the ensuite off the main room locked, and it took some time for someone to come up and unlock it. The washing machine had no instructions and it took over an hour for someone to come up and show us how it worked. Same with the oven.
We resorted to walking up and down 3 flights of stairs to avoid having to catch the (sometimes very slow) lifts up and down from reception when we wanted to visit each other's rooms.
The duty manager was very apologetic, but this didn't change the fact that we couldn't easily have the family weekend we had planned.
We have stayed before, but will not stay again after this.More
