“A disappointment”

We chose this apartment because it was reasonably close to the Roal Children's Hospital. However, it was too far to walk.
The photos on the website looked good, however, on arrival it was more like student accomodation. It was noisy, with no atmosphere. The hallways resounded with the noise of tv's and music blaring, and the smell of smoke and curry permiated the building.
The furniture was battered and torn, several appliances didn't work. It was only superficially clean.
The balcony was littered with cigarette butts. We were kept awake by the comings and goings of people all night and the sounds of someone vomiting in the apartment below.
We would not stay there again and definitely wouldn't recommend it.

We stayed here for 7 nights as we were in Brisbane for business and an event close to the apartment.
The lady who answered our phone calls and emails was very nice and pleasant. We must point out we chose this place for location and it was a great price on quick beds.
Upon arrival (Midnight) the apartment was easy to find but the corridors reeked of cigarette smoke.
Our apartment also smelt bad and was supposed to be Non-smoking but obviously people choose to ignore this.
Apartment was cleanish as there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and the bathrooms were pleasant but far from spotless.
The first night we were exhausted but being that the apartment is in a side street there was a lot of noise from cars in the street.
The manager did offer to change apartments due to the smoke smell but after airing out it was much better.
We didn’t spend a lot of time in the apartment but come night time the noise from the street was not that helpful.
Every person who yelled, cars driving past just echoed up the building to our 3rd floor.
We didn’t realise that the apartment was located between 2 “nightclub and strip club” streets and subsequently when you went for a walk there were a lot of drunken people and “street people” around.
On Saturday night despite being clear in the rules about noise the apartment below had a party to 5am.As the floors are “secured” and our phone didn’t work we couldn’t knock on their door to tell them to turn it down.I ended up getting dressed going outside and calling them on the intercom and they turned it down a little but their voices echoed off the walls.
The apartment was well fitted, big shower, bath and modern appliances and would be suitable mostly for weekend party people and definitely not for light sleepers or children.
However it is right next to the showgrounds, Brunswick train station and a 15 minutes’ walk to the centre of Brisbane so location was good.
On Monday morning the garbage truck stopped in front of the apartments to empty all of the bins and this also was incredibly noisy and went for over 30 minutes.
Upon leaving I told the manager about the party on Saturday night and she said I could have called the manger, howver I didn’t feel like calling them at 3am, 4am and 5am, as a respect for their own sleep.
