I booked-in here as I had a very early start the following morning - not because of price as it was no less than staying in the city at a 5-star hotel.
The free shuttle bus to the precinct (not the hotel itself) entailed a 20-minute wait in the heat and the surliest bus driver I have come across in my entire life. It was about a 200 metre walk to the hotel from the drop-off: ok for me as I had little luggage, but it would be difficult for anyone with a lot of luggage or less mobile.
The hotel was soulless, as you'd expect from an airport hotel. The staff were friendly, but it took about 20 minutes to get a taxi to get into the city for a meeting and I had to chase them up about it. The room was basic and modern but there was a thick film of dust on a the side table. The bathroom was okay but had no shower cap nor body lotion and only one small soap.
However, the redeeming feature was the room service meal. It was really good - grilled seafood beautifully prepared and very fresh. The chef may well be wasted in what is otherwise a very average airport hotel.
To make matters worst, the shuttle the next morning starts at 5am and leaves on the half-hour at a cost of $5. I had to leave at 5am which meant, by the time I got up, showered and got ready and then waited at the airport terminal, I may as well have stayed at a hotel in the city or New Farm - in other words, what I gained in travel time, I lost in flexibility and waiting time at the terminal.
