“Great place to eat”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

I found this a lovely, relaxed place to eat! Really friendly and welcoming staff, great selection of fish and the best fish and chips I've had in a long time, and all very reasonably priced.

“Great selection of fish”
Reviewed 5 November 2012

A tent like structure which provided the bare amenities and a very friendly welcoming staff. A large selection of fish with generous portions. It appeared to be very well supported by locals

“Good for quick fish”
Reviewed 11 September 2012

A great fish and chip place with quality food but very basic service. Fair value for money but dont reall like the dinning experience, the take away is its best asset!

“Good food hidden away .... but obviously the locals know about it!”
Reviewed 23 October 2011

We "stumbled" on this restaurant thanks to an app on my phone showing restaurants near the motel we were staying at. The restaurant is attached to a fish and chip takeaway, hidden away without great street appeal: you walk into the takeaway and see the restaurant area off to the side. It is a welcoming and unpretentious BYO place (no corkage charge) with limited, quality menu. We had the two-course deal that cost between $22-$26 for entree and main, with the cost depending on choice of main meal. The food was EXCELLENT. I have two small criticisms: the lighting was too dim and the service turned out to be only mediocre. A young waiter was excellent but our waitress served entrees to the table almost immediately after 2 of our party of 4 had gone to a find a bottleshop to buy some wine - she knew this, as she'd helped provide directions for them to get there only moments beforehand. I had to ask her to keep these warm for the diners, rather than leaving them on the table to go cold; she said she'd "have to ask the chef if that was OK" and took quite some time to do so before ultimately removing them and re-serving when the others returned. Unfortunately, she then immediately served the main courses while entrees were still being eaten. The place filled up with customers while we were there, many of whom seemed to know the staff and other diners - they appeared to be locals - the ambience was cheerful. We would certainly be happy to dine there again!
