Only stayed 1 night which was a shame. Stayed in a double courtyard room. Small courtyard with only one chair outside, not sure having the courtyard is particularly worthwhile, but spacious and clean room. Great bathroom with shower and bath. Luxurious linens. Great to have a coffee machine and hot and cold water on tap.
Canapes are a nice idea and tasty.
Staff are great. Very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was amazing!
Would definately stay here again. It is pricey but great for a little indulgence.

Totally agree with all recent reviews, this was a great find and will certainly use this hotel again as my first choice when doing business in Brisbane. The whole experience was low key, professional and staff were genuinely interested in their guests - a very different experience from the usual impersonal service I have received elsewhere in Brisbane.
Rooms are quiet, beautifully decorated in an understated way, well equipped and beds are comfortable. WIndows open for fresh air. However there is no fridge in the room.
Location is great if you want a quiet retreat type experience with the convenience of being very close to the city. There are plenty of restaurants within easy walking, the hotel breakfast is delicious and the drinks and canapes at night really topped off the experience.

Room Tip: The courtyard rooms on the lower floor are easiest to access (no stairs) however during hot Brisbane...

This is our new home in Brisbane, we love the attentive service, and the well appointed rooms. The bed is so comfy .
The rooms aren't the biggest I have stayed in but it has every convience that you would want in a hotel room. You will love the breakfast a highlight of our stays with Spicers.
Pre dinner drinks and nibbles in the upstaris bar is a bonus.

We had a weekend in Brisbane and a lovely stay at Spicers Balfour. The hotel is quiet and well appointed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful without being over the top. Our room was comfy and the pillows on the bed were some of the best I have ever had in a hotel. The hotel bar was nice and the breakfast was excellent. A great getaway small and friendly

In a world where we are so often feeling a little let down by the travel experience isn't it exciting when you find that exceptional exception! We were greeted with attentive service, taken straight to our room, no checking in, we were then shown the way to the cafe strip then back for pre dinner drinks in the funky little bar. Our host then made a dinner reservation for us at a nearby restaurant which was superb. The only disappointment was we had to check out straight after breakfast because of commitments. We will definitely be back and also een to try the other hotels in the Spicer group. We would love you to set up in McLaren Vale!

This proerty is like staying at a retreat BUT in the middle of Fortitude Valley. It is very very quiet & private.

Rooms: They only have about 9 so this place is nice & quiet! We stayed in the best room this property has & it was great. The bathroom was a good size & CLEAN, bed was very comfortable & the room facilities are great. Love the cold filtered water available on tap!

Service: Amazing! All the staff were wonderful & so friendly. Alex checked us in & he was so helpful.

Dining: Breakfast was a favourite of mine. Try the eggs benny! Sitting on the deck with the morning sun shining down was a great start to the day. There is also a roof top bar that pretty much doesn't close. So enjoy a glass of vino or a beer on the roof with the city view!

LOVE Spicers Balfour. We will stay again & I suggest you try it too! You will thoroughly enjoy it.
