A little oasis at the city edge - top class food and warm service from interested staff. The quality bedding combined with gourmet inclusions and honour bar makes for a relaxing few days. Recommended for foodies and that special occasion out in Brisbane.

359Debbie,

We are blessed to have a little oasis on the edge of the city that we can share with you. The honour bar system is s great idea and helps to make you feel relaxed.
I was a little worried about the heading on your review 'Spiders Balfour' that you may have found a eight legged friend in your room but was relieved to read this wasn’t the case.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon

Kind Regards

Sam

For 3 nights we enjoyed a great alternative to the repetitive major city hotels. Spicers is in a quiet street in trendy New Farm. A multitude of restaurants, cafes and shops within walking distance. The centre of Brisbane a quick bus or ferry away. Our Executive Room was larger than expected and cleverly designed to feel spacious with a subtle opulence. It was also well equipped and included free wifi that was reliable and only required an initial logon. The huge bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfast included both buffet style and any a la carte on the menu. Meal tables were available both inside or on the delightful 'Queenslander' veranda. The dining was so good that we chose it for 2 nights. There was an unfortunate incident with a dessert glass breaking and the horrified waitress dealt with it immediately and also discounted our bill. As the hotel has only 9 rooms, it was the shortest journey from a restaurant to our room that I have ever known! All the staff were friendly and helpful and we left feeling that we had been treated to an intimate and stylish residence.

We stayed for a romantic overnight getaway. The rooms are lovely (smallish) have everything you need, foxtel with movie channel, free wii fi, boiling/cold instant tap, nespresso coffee, T2 Teas, the bottle of champagne on the roof top at sunset was lovely. The turn down serve with candles and chocolate truffles and coated strawberries. They honour system with the bar and beverages fridges is a nice old fashioned touch. Bed very comfy, pillows amazing, linen of high quality. Pleasant staff, free parking, great views, lovely food for dinner and breakfast. The email trail that you get asking your preferences is great, book breakfast at least as it's shared with the public and very popular. We had the table for two in the corner of the deck, very nice spot! We will be back!!

Room Tip: don't worry about getting a court yard room, it is so small you won't use it. it's only...

We stayed two nights at this hotel and they were among the most enjoyable in any hotel in which we have stayed. Everything about Spicers Balfour was classy. It is a boutique hotel with a warm, friendly atmosphere, made special by the outstanding service. The restaurant is excellent. It is also well located in upmarket New Farm, which is a short ferry or taxi ride to Brisbane's fabulous South Bank cultural precinct. A gem.

Excellent choice for a visit to Brisbane
Small boutique Hotel near the City, with a relaxed atmosphere and an excellent service. The food is truly "gourmet" quality, both at Breakfast or Dinner.
The staff is highly qualified and very helpful

This was our first stay in a Spicers and we were definitely not disappointed and will be back. Unfortunately it was only an overnight city getaway but we felt relaxed within minutes of arriving. Lovely details, finishing touches and superior service made for a beautiful relaxing weekend and the quality of the dining at the Balfour Kitchen was excellent.

Our first experience at a Spicers Property was surprisingly good. We found the staff especially helpful and friendly during our two day stay and they all went out of their way to make our stay a great experience. The room was small but cozy and very well appointed and a blown fuse was fixed immediately without fuss. The food at both dinner and breakfast was superb and we could confidently recommend this quality boutique hotel to anyone looking for a special place to stay in Brisbane.
