“Clean, with great staff and location. Poor value and room not great.”
Reviewed 25 July 2009

Stayed here for one night in July - the same night as the big Rugby League match, which meant that the room was pricey - $550 for 1 night in an Executive room.

Bar and Reception staff very good - very informative and friendly.

As I said, $550 was a lot to pay for 1 night and the Executive room was disappointing.

It was small, and the only thing that made it "executive" was the presence of a desk in the corner. Poor.

We availed of canapés in the Executive Lounge and enjoyed complimentary drinks - but the place was full of suits (business people) so we felt out of place and retired to the main bar for food and more drinks!

It's a nice hotel - but room size was most disappointing aspect.

This is a very nice Hotel but just does not have the WOW factor, the hotel looks a little tied and the heating on the foyer level was to warm. I have no complaints at all regarding service, you just can get beter 5 star in Brisbane.

Enjoyed 3 nights at the Brisbane Marriott on our way to and from the Whitsunday Islands. We had planned to stay one night at another top rated Brisbane hotel but switched to the Marriott when they said they could hold our luggage while we were away in the Whitsunday Islands and only needed to take a small bag. Great service to know about if you are returning! We had nice clean rooms with comfortable beds, in room safe and great tub for a hot soak in the evening. The location is right along the river and a 10 minute walk to most everything. Great restaurants and shopping nearby. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant so I can not comment on that. My only complaint is that the hotel charges for internet access ($10 an hour) I went across the street to a coffee cafe and enjoyed free wi-fi along with a delicious breakfast. They are only open Mon-Fri though as with many of the cafes in the area. The McDonald's down the street is open 24 hours and also provides free wi-fi. FYI! I needed to do self serve laundry and the staff wasn't too sure as to where the laundry was located but I found it and it was just a short 10 minute walk away and open until 9PM. We were there on a Sunday morning and there was a great little market down the street offering all kinds of neat things for sale including some pretty jewelry and inexpensive Australian items to bring home for gifts. Be sure to walk to the South Bank area for the museum and great strolling along the river. If time permits make plans for the Lone Pine Koala trip. It is a great 90 minute boat ride to the Koala sanctuary where you can have your picture taken with a cuddly koala. We truly enjoyed our day. Once again, if you are looking for a nicely appointed, clean and well situated hotel then the Brisbane Marriott shouldn't disappoint.

This hotel is a very clean and well-maintained hotel in a fantastic location in the center of Brisbane. The decor was modern and tasteful, similar to any business hotel anywhere. The TV worked well. The location was great, right on the Queen Street Mall. It felt very safe to walk there during the day and the evening. The mall had nice shops and restaurants, and a couple of movie theaters are nearby.

The wireless Internet service worked well, but the pricing was outrageous at $29 for 24 hours. Parking was also priced outrageously at around $45 for overnight valet parking.

I won this hotel room through priceline, so I ended up with a room on a low floor with no real view, but that was fine with me. The lowest floor for rooms was on the 8th floor, I think, so no rooms are very close to the ground.

I recent had a 4 night stay at the Marriott and was very impressed by the staff especially the staff at the rear entry of the hotel. All the guys where friendly and happy and nothing was a bother to them, well done guys you are an asset to your employer.

The room was beautiful and an upgrade to a river view was a bonus, the room was the usual high standard Marriott, clean, quiet, comfortable.

I dined in the restaurant the service was good my waitress friendly, food was good had a three course special for $50.

If needed a small shopping centre is located just up the hill from the hotel with a supermarket and pharmacy.

Thanks the Marriott Brisbane I wouldnt hesitate to return.

Stayed here when I was attending a hens night in December 08. Great room. Make sure to book one with river views. Great bathroom. Breakfast was good, service great. Lots of restaurants within 5 min walk to Eagle Street Pier. My husband order room service which he said was good. Definatley best place to stay in Brisbane. The Emporium at Fortitude Valley is just as good but the location of the Marriot is great.

We stayed here for Christmas and as it was the festive season everything was a little pricey... We didn't realize that Lunch was a main event & extremely overpriced in comparison to other days of the year. They were fully booked but the receptionist on Check in Christmas eve said she could get us a table if we needed. We decided againest it & went for the Aussie BBQ instead....
We did however have room service breakfast which was well worth the price with Complimentary Egg Nogg & CHristmas Crackers. Our Breakfast trolley was collected a little too quickly but the Hotel Staff were fantastic & I can not fault the Hotel Facilities, Location or Decor.
We really did have a luxuary Christmas Treate....
A special note for the Guys that do Vault Parking... They really are Brilliant & Can drive ANYTHING!
