“Fantastic Luxury.”
Reviewed 9 August 2010

We booked through Wotif. This hotel is located in the CBD. Walk to everything.
The Hotel is so beautiful, so charming. Huge luxury rooms. Service is friendly & very helpful. We will certainly go back when staying in Brisbane. Not as expensive as you may think for such a luxury hotel. The rooms are very private, quality service throughout & although in the heart of the CBD it is very very quite, even with the Casino being across the road, it was fun. Highly recommend this hotel.

I booked this room based on Tripadvisor.com reviews. I have nothing to complain about the room. When we noted it was our anniversary in our WOTIF booking, so that we could get a nice deluxe room as from here, we learnt all rooms are different as the building was converted from an old govt building .... The manager even gave us a bottle of champagne complementary with well wishes for our anniversary.
Just that I read one review saying this is the best hotel in Brisbane, 5-star and all, well for 5-star hotel, we sure weren't impressed with the reception, who tho' not outwardly rude was not charming/friendly/super professional. The lobby was smaller than expected and felt a bit poky and dark but if you're just looking for a wonderful room and not caring about whether the receptionist you meet is charming and friendly , or want to chill out in the lobby , outside of your room ... this one's perfect!

The place is the ultimate, the location, service, oh so comfortable beds, rooms are beautiful from a past era but modern.

This would have to be the best place I have ever stayed in upon arriving by taxi I turned my back to pay the taxi and the porter had taken my bags out of taxi and was welcomed by a welcome madam well I was impressed. Upon that evening we went out for dinner and arrived back the bedding had been turned back, chocolates left on the pillow and curtains was drawn..wonderful!

The location is a only a mere 3 mins walk to the centre of the shopping centre and myers, if you wish to head to a casual breakfast or dinner Roma across the road is perfect.

The service from the staff were outstanding and it really is the best hotel ever STAY THERE its worth the dosh. The only grizzle I have is that because its a hotel there are no laundry facilities you have to pay for the staff to handle themselves and rooms only have a kettle and cups available. Its great for a 2 night stay but any longer for a real tourist its not suitable as one has to wash ones clothes and cant eat out every night.

The bathroom was all marble and bliss.

I would stay there again when in Brisbane.

Excellent hotel. rooms large and stylish. The high ceilings and open court yard very colonial. The bed was the most comfortable we had slept in during the 3 week trip, so cosy. Absolutely recommend staying here as so accessible for all the amenities Brisbane has to offer.

We decided to stay at the Treasury as we wanted to experience a different hotel with a boutique feel instead of the usual high rise hotel we tend to stay in. We were definitely not disappointed with our stay.

The hotel is tastefully decorated to compliment the amazing features. The people who were responsible for the refurbishment of this hotel did an amazing job. There are many places where you can sit and just admire the beauty of this old worlde hotel.

This hotel is like stepping back in time. The rooms are enormous with large entrance areas that are the size of a small room! The high ceilings gave a real sense of space. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room had all the modern amenities you could want.

The bathrooms are tastefully decorated in a way that compliments the architecture of the hotel but with a modern touch. The shower was spacious and the set temperature control tap was great for having a shower with a constant water temperature. The bath was a proper long deep one so that it made having a soak after a hectic day great.

The chocolates each night in your room were a nice touch and having read some reviews about the noise I can honestly say we did not hear any noise at all. It was just so peaceful and there was a wedding on the Saturday night we were staying and we did not hear any noise at all. You could not hear your neighbour in the next room at all.

After having stayed here I would not hesitate in recommending this to anyone who is going to Brisbane. It is close to the shopping mall, near the Casino and close to transport.

We will definitely be returning to this hotel to experience the beauty and tranquility it has to offer.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend a night in this beautiful hotel! My husband and I booked it for 1 night after our cruise, but after staying there I wish we had booked more!

As soon as you walk into the lobby you are blown away by how royal this hotel looks. Every corner of the premises is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. The extremely high door frames took my breath away.

When we opened the door to our room we were also amazed. The bed was so big, lush and beautiful. The plasma TV was huge! The bathroom was fit for a king. The ceiling was also so high, at least two stories worth.

We loved this hotel so much that we didn't bother to leave the room. We ordered room service and soaked up the greatness of the hotel.

I would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

We stayed at the Brisbane treasury hotel in room 216 (Deluxe King room) for 2 nights mid-week.
The room was lovely, with high ceilings, a lot of light and lovely furnishings in keeping with the period of the building.
The room had a good sized entry hall that housed the cupboard, mini-bar and provided some luggage storage.
There was a large flat screen tv, lots of seating options including lounge chairs and a sofa, a round desk (which could also be used as a small dining table as it had 2 chairs).
The bed was comfortable with good quality linen.
An iPod docking station / alarm clock was also provided which was a nice touch.
The windows had both curtains and horizontal blinds which were great to block out the light early in the morning.
The room was fairly quiet, with some noise heard from the street early in the morning.
Our room looked out towards the south / east, on to a courtyard shared between neighbouring buildings. There was no real view, as such.
The bathroom was spacious, with a lovely deep bath, separate shower and ample hot water. Toiletries provided were fine. Ample good quality towels were provided.
Both air-conditioning and a ceiling fan were available in the room.
There was a turn down service (not requested, just part of the service).

Our only real problem with the room was that due to the layout and architectural feature columns there was only space for a bedside table (and light) on one side of the bed. This proved to be a bit of a nuisance. We improvised by using a chair as a bedside table but this didn't help with the lack of bedside light.

We visited the cosy in-house bar, Ryan's, on the ground floor, a few times for pre-dinner drinks and also for lunch. The food was very nice and not overly expensive.
There is another venue, Lab, also on the ground floor which offers breakfasts in the mornings, as well as running as a restaurant and bar later on.

Check-in and check-out were very efficient although no real information or assistance was provided at check-in.

The area the hotel is situated in is quite central, about 5 minutes walk to the start of the mall and to the Brisbane river. There is a ferry stop close by and the free around city bus runs past the hotel.

We've stayed in a few different hotels in Brisbane over the past few years and think that this hotel was the nicest. We plan to return.
