Location: Fantastic with great views of the river and Botanic Gardens, you pay for that and that alone, it seems. Easy walk to Queen St etc
Rooms: Very average with old decor and fittings, but clean
Service: Some staff were good to talk to, some had a shocking attitude and the main reason I'm even writing this review. I had issues with internet speed and getting my room serviced when requesting it, one remote for the TV missing and an unpleasant check in.
Pool: Good
Gym: Beyond a joke- no yoga/stretching mats, all equipment very old and cumbersome, no free weights, if working out is your go on a trip do not stay here
Food: only tried breakfast and it was fine, nothing great, and nothing bad

I think they've done a nice job marketing this place because its not what it looks like in the professional images. But most importantly, how is Queensland Tourism going to compete with Asia if you pay premium at a place like this and get 2 star service? I don't care what other hotels in Brisbane are doing: if you pay $400+ for a room, you should be able to park your car for free. Seriously, how many guests have a car? Add it to the room cost, whatever. Not all people visiting are from Brisbane are they? It really gets you off on the wrong foot at check in. Fly to Asia- experience the service you get when you pay this much, and see what I mean. I have low expectations when I visit Australia now, but this was poor. No chance I would ever stay here again.

Dear Mush5273,

We are most disappointed that your experience did not meet the high benchmark Quay West has become renowned for over the past 15 years and apologise if this impacted your time away. Specifically our warm, attentive service appears to have been lacking during your visit and for this we are sorry. I also acknowledge your comments regarding our valet service and apologise if the additional cost was not made clear either prior to booking or arrival.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback.

Regards

We have now stayed here on two occasions. The location is fantastic, the staff are friendly and the apartment style rooms re comfortable and large. For people such as ourselves who spend a lot of time away from home, it is great to be able to stay here and enjoy the comforts of home.

Stayed recently for 3 nights in a 1 bedroom premium apartment with my wife. The apartments make a comfortable city stay with fantastic views of the botanical gardens and river.Check in at midnight was easy as was check out.Apartment had good kitchen and laundry facilities.Hotel is located near parliament house , botanical gardens , the river and the CBD.Lots of shops and restaurants in a short walk from the front door.A nice basic breakfast in the restaurant was included.I found the bed a little soft but it was plush and I prefer very firm.Great locale for a stay in central Brisbane.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 21st floor with the Quay to Cuisine package. Great value. We had a quick and easy check in and when we arrived at the apartment it had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Very conveniently located with a lovely view of both the botanical gardens and Brisbane river.
We had dinner in McMahons restaurant where we had great service and a beautiful meal.
In the morning we had a lovely breakfast, not a huge variety but you do have the option of ordering a cooked meal.
We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Premier room upper level because it is on a busy road.

Staff all very friendly, large clean room with lovely views over the gardens from a large balcony.
Only a 5 minute walk to Southbank to enjoy breakfast and the Sunday morning markets.
McMahons restaurant well worth a try.
Would highly recommend.

My husband booked Quay West as a surprise for out wedding anniversary and wanted somewhere more than just a hotel room.
The apartment was spacious, well appointed and had great views of the Gardens. We enjoyed watching the planes coming over on their way to the airport, but as the building is located on a busy road it was noisy if you chose to sit out on the balcony, there was little noise if the doors were closed. That said the location is ideal for either business or pleasure. A brief walk to the CBD or Waterfront offices, close to the shops and sights of Brisbane and easy to walk to the ferry for transport to Southbank or just a cruise along the river.
The staff were polite and friendly, check-in and check-out were a breeze. The reception staff even looked up and greeted you each time you walked in.
We would certainly stay again and recommend it to any visitors to the city.

Whilst the rooms are a little dated, it's a great place if you need a little more then your standard hotel room. The staff could not have been more helpful, and the price when I stayed was excellent value ( it isn't always but there was a deal on ). Nice looking out of the tranquil botanic gardens. I'll be back.
