This was our second visit to this enticing hotel. The staff in all areas are very accommodating to ensure one has a most enjoyable stay. The rooms are large and comfortable. Pleasant and homely atmosphere.

We booked this site as a mystery on wotif. It was a pleasant surprise all round handy position opposite botanic gardens, staff were friendly and service excellent on arrival. Although decor is a little dated rooms were spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the view from the large balcony.Although we had already made other arrangements for breakfast the one on offer looked great. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Quay West

Room Tip: Ask for a I bed suite facing park

Located in a quieter area near to the botanic gardens, it provides very spacious suites perfect for family vacations at reasonable rates. Rooms are surrounded by large windows and balconies, offering a good view of the waterfront and bedrooms are perfect for watching the sunrise in bed. Hotel lobby gives a cosy and welcoming feel while the restaurant serves very good breakfast. There are also shops and eateries within walking distance.

Dear Y880,

We are delighted you were able to make the most of our great location and comfortably-appointed suites while you were with us. Being a boutique apartment hotel brings a warmth and charm usually only felt in a 'home' and we are most grateful that you appreciated these warm touches as well.

Location: Fantastic with great views of the river and Botanic Gardens, you pay for that and that alone, it seems. Easy walk to Queen St etc
Rooms: Very average with old decor and fittings, but clean
Service: Some staff were good to talk to, some had a shocking attitude and the main reason I'm even writing this review. I had issues with internet speed and getting my room serviced when requesting it, one remote for the TV missing and an unpleasant check in.
Pool: Good
Gym: Beyond a joke- no yoga/stretching mats, all equipment very old and cumbersome, no free weights, if working out is your go on a trip do not stay here
Food: only tried breakfast and it was fine, nothing great, and nothing bad

I think they've done a nice job marketing this place because its not what it looks like in the professional images. But most importantly, how is Queensland Tourism going to compete with Asia if you pay premium at a place like this and get 2 star service? I don't care what other hotels in Brisbane are doing: if you pay $400+ for a room, you should be able to park your car for free. Seriously, how many guests have a car? Add it to the room cost, whatever. Not all people visiting are from Brisbane are they? It really gets you off on the wrong foot at check in. Fly to Asia- experience the service you get when you pay this much, and see what I mean. I have low expectations when I visit Australia now, but this was poor. No chance I would ever stay here again.

Dear Mush5273,

We are most disappointed that your experience did not meet the high benchmark Quay West has become renowned for over the past 15 years and apologise if this impacted your time away. Specifically our warm, attentive service appears to have been lacking during your visit and for this we are sorry. I also acknowledge your comments regarding our valet service and apologise if the additional cost was not made clear either prior to booking or arrival.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback.

We have now stayed here on two occasions. The location is fantastic, the staff are friendly and the apartment style rooms re comfortable and large. For people such as ourselves who spend a lot of time away from home, it is great to be able to stay here and enjoy the comforts of home.

Stayed recently for 3 nights in a 1 bedroom premium apartment with my wife. The apartments make a comfortable city stay with fantastic views of the botanical gardens and river.Check in at midnight was easy as was check out.Apartment had good kitchen and laundry facilities.Hotel is located near parliament house , botanical gardens , the river and the CBD.Lots of shops and restaurants in a short walk from the front door.A nice basic breakfast in the restaurant was included.I found the bed a little soft but it was plush and I prefer very firm.Great locale for a stay in central Brisbane.
