We regularly stay at this hotel whenever we come to Brisbane, having stayed here more then 10 occasions. We stayed here mid week and once again had to battle the 2 car park space at the front of the hotel at about 9:30am. We normally stay as a couple but we now have two small kids in tow. We were met at the front of the hotel by a lovely staff member who carried our luggage into the hotel. We arrived early so didn't expect to check in straight away so they held our luggage. We arrived back at the hotel at about 3pm and found our luggage still sitting in the foyer in the same place it was left. I was rather disappointed to hear that it was going to cost $30 a night for a each portacot for the kids. To me it appears that families are penalised for having children when staying here. On checkout we were told that we wouldn't be charged for the portacot's. Is this because we said something, a bit late after the horse has bolted. On our next trip we wont be staying here and will move our business elsewhere.

I stayed in this hotel during the first Ashes test match. When I arrived a panel in the ceiling was undone and hanging. The staff responded quickly and it was mended. The breakfast in this hotel was poor, and the bar closed at 10pm. The staff were very helpful and friendly but I would not stay in this hotel again.

A work Xmas party brought us to the Rendezvous so we decided to book overnight accommodation. The hotel has a great spot opposite Central Station and is only a block or two from the Queen Street Mall and the heart of town. Buffet breakfast and Valet parking was offered, along with a generously late checkout of 12pm. The staff were all very polite and helpful (especially so, as our function was quite late finishing and there was an unfortunate incident induced by over consumption, but all was handled graciously by the staff). The room we had this time did not have a view, we looked out over a central metal roof and hotel windows opposite, but the bed was very comfortable and the studio room was well appointed with kitchenette, ensuite, dining nook & lounge area. Wifi was available on request and room service was available until 10pm. Plenty of lounge areas to sit in in the foyer and the restaurant "Berkley's" was pleasant, quaint and reasonably priced with lunch and dinner specials on offer for $15 & $29 along wih the Buffett breakfast, which was nicely presented with plenty of hot and cold options as well as a crepe making machine, which was a bit of a novelty for those of us who don't frequent cruise ships.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Anzac Square or the street.

My wife and I and another couple stayed last week. We both had a one bedroom apartment.
On arrival our car was taken away for parking - no fuss here - good swift check in with friendly and helpful staff. Our friends were upgraded as they had stayed here previously but our rooms had little difference. The room was clean and very spacious, had a separate lounge come dining room and had a kitchen with enough utensils to feed ourselves. The bathroom was a good size with a bath come shower. The bedroom was very neat and the bed very comfortable - suited my sometimes aching back very well. Our room was on the second floor facing Edward Street but we didn't hear or bothered by any noise from within or outside the Hotel.
We chose this location because we wanted to tour the City Hall, go to the restaurant at the Casino and shopping in the Queen Street Mall. Short wall to all these locations. (Note:Railway Station is across the street for those who don't want to drive)
The buffet breakfast was extensive with a lot more on offer than many other 4-5 star hotels I have stayed at. We enjoyed a couple of late night drinks at the bar and the girls were very friendly and quick to serve. On leaving, our car was delivered to us on time and with no fuss.
All in all we all enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel and the friendly staff.
We would stay again.

Room Tip: The one bedroom apartment are very roomy and good value.

We stayed 2 nights just before Christmas and booked online. We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment at a very reasonable rate for the centre of Brisbane. The apartment was small but had a galley style kitchen with small fridge, good bathroom, with washer/dryer and a compact bedroom with Queen bed. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and linens very nice. My only comment would be that the room was rather dark as the only window was in the lounge area and looked immediately across at other room a few metres away so not much light coming in but as we were out most of the day, really didn't cause any problems. Ask for a room with a street view if you need to look out on something. Would suit a business traveller or couple with no kids nicely.
We ate out and used the room as a base as the location is very handy to the city/river/trains etc. Didn't see a porter but reception was efficient and friendly - we enjoyed a quiet drink in the library area near the lobby as this is a pleasant area to sit - need some really good books though! It seemed to consist of mostly old encyclopedia. Very quiet, no street noise etc. We would stay again for overnights in the city

Reception staff were not as welcoming as I would have thought. Was expecting a warmer welcome considering the hotel was advertised as being one of the up-market hotels in the city. We were told that we had been upgraded to a deluxe bedroom. Were quickly told of the various extras that we could have. We opted for one of the packages which gave us free wi-fi for 2 days and one free item from the minibar every day. The room was unusual in its set-up. the room had not been cleaned that well - there were food crumbs on the chairs and sticky hand prints on the armrests. The bathroom was looking old. The bed was comfortable and there was double-glazing, which we were thankful for. Not as glamorous and boutique as we had thought it would be.
