We live in Brisbane but still like to have a change of scenery and relax now and then and always choose Royal on the Park. Their twin rooms comfortable accommodate 2 adults and 2 children in their queen beds for no extra charge which makes it good value for money. We make use of the excellent room service and staff are always really welcoming and friendly.
It is so close to the Botanical Gardens we enjoy having a walk or playing ball through there and it is an easy walk to the CityCat to go across the river to Southbank and the museums/art galleries etc.
Room amenities are great so would highly recommend Royal on the Park.

Room Tip: We have only ever stayed in park view rooms which have been good.

Stayed 2 nights (Fri & Sat) and found this lovely hotel to be extremely good value. Our room had 2 queen beds and the Royal does not charge extra to accommodate a toddler, unlike most other Brisbane city hotels that wanted to charge anything up to $50 extra per night for our child to use a bed that was already in the room!! The beds were very very comfortable, and the staff had placed a cute teddy bear on our child's bed which was a lovely surprise for him when we arrived at our room. The full-length block-out curtains did their job and we were grateful that our toddler managed to have a good sleep in!

Our city-view room looked over the pool and into the high-rises of Brisbane, very pretty at nighttime. The room was a good size and pleasantly more spacious than other inner-city hotel rooms i've stayed at in the past. We used the Royal as a base while we explored the city. It was an easy (mostly flat) walk to the Eagle St Pier to catch the ferries and not far uptown to the Queen St Mall. The hotel is down near the city botanic gardens which are lovely to explore and it also means it's a much quieter part of the CBD. The free city-loop bus leaves from across the road near the hotel but it only runs Monday to Friday. This meant we had to walk most places or catch taxis on the Saturday and Sunday as there are not many other buses in that part of the city on weekends. But it's all easy-walking and only about 3 blocks to the mall so nothing's far away.

The staff were friendly and helpful and everything was very clean and well-maintained. I'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you're booking more than a few weeks in advance of your stay, look for the 'advance purch...

What a super hotel!
My friend and I spent three delightful days in Brisbane in early February and the enjoyment was mainly due to our stay in Royal On The Park which is situated opposite a lovely park. I have travelled extensively and this hotel definitely rates among the best. The service was friendly yet professional and all members of staff encountered were very pleasant. I'd certainly recommend Royal On The Park to anyone wishing to stay in Brisbane; it is located near cinemas, shops and restaurants and has easy access to the cultural centre.

Room Tip: City view rooms are fun - lots to look at.

Stayed here over Australia day weekend 2014. The food at the restaurant and room service is absolutely excellent. I'm gluten free and there were a great deal of options, plus the food is of a quality that is really satisfying. Pretty decent, reasonable price too. You may want to book the restaurant because on a rainy night it was booked out. The hotel is nice, nothing ultra special (I dare say, I am a little critical), room was clean, modern, but the service is fantastic. When I first got there, the room I was originally allocated unfortunately smelled like cigarettes, so I asked for another room and they were really accommodating. They were really nice about it, I think this hotel and others cop a bit of 'partying' over summer weekends, because I noticed noise and music from adjacent rooms over the weekend. Weekend nights as usual it is quite quiet. Perhaps sound proofing is not that great. Overall a nice hotel, good value.

Room Tip: A higher floor will obviously give better view, try for botanic garden view, not city view.

Dear Christine S
I welcome your feedback after your visit over the Australia Day weekend. Our chefs have recently released their new menu and I am pleased that you enjoyed their food. The menu combines new and creative dishes with timeless favourites, all served by the experienced team in the Walnut Restaurant. I apologise that the room you first entered smell of cigarettes. We are a 100% non smoking hotel however some guests choose to disregard this and are charged a fee to deep clean the room. The hotel has a "no party" policy however we welcome guests of all ages and backgrounds who may be here for different purposes.
Kind Regards
Dale John

My wife and i stayed in this motel for it's location as we saw a concert at the Riverstage across the road.
Without great expectations, we were surprised by thorough and attentive staff, and plain but well appointed room and a very reasonble stay.
We didn't utilise the pool, gym, bar etc but with such close proximity to all the great eateries on the river and the Mall up the road you don't need to.
We'd definately stay again should we need to be in this part of town.

The Royal On the Park is certainly up there with the best in terms of location, value for money and true hospitality. We have just relocated from Sydney to Brisbane and chose to stay at the Royal until we were able to move into our new home. From the seamless check in on arrival right through to the ease of check out nothing was ever a problem.

The Royal is situated in a peaceful location overlooking the Botanic Gardens, however is only a short stroll to Queen Street Mall, making it a nice retreat to come back to after a few hours (or more) shopping!!!. The Royal offers special deals and we took advantage of the $179 per night deal with several inclusions, the highlight for us being the full (as were we) buffet breakfast which included abundant fresh fruit selections, delicious compotes, yogurts, fresh fruit juice station where you can create your own concoctions, pastries (you have to try the portugese tarts), crispy bacon, eggs, hash brown and a selection of nespresso coffees to finish off.

Our room was tastefully furnished, very comfortable with views overlooking the park. As I was travelling with my husband and daughter we needed a spacious room and found the Royal offered just that with 2 Queen size beds and plenty of room to move around. In most other hotels we have had to pay for a costly rollerway bed for our daughter so the Royal really does win on all counts.

The greatest asset of this hotel however would have to be the friendliness and professionalism of the staff - so hard to strike a balance between the two, but the Royal has managed to achieve this. I would highly recommend this hotel as THE place to stay in Brisbane.

The team take great pride in offering friendly, professional and unobtrusive service to all guests. Our location is well suited to shopping or sightseeing with public transport close by or most venues only a short walk. I trust that now you are a local you will be back for many more stays.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions for business and always found it to be clean, comfortable and in a great location. No the hotel is not modern and on the outside it is not much to look at but the rooms are big and clean and the beds comfortable. They have great fast and free wifi and helpful staff. I'd stay here again on leisure or business.
