“A lovely weekend getaway.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

We had had a pretty rough time as my husband battled cancer so it was decided we would have a family night away in the city. We were able to secure a night at the Royal in Brisbane for a very reasonable price. The room was great with a view over the Brisbane Botanical gardens. Our 7 year old daughter joined us it was great not to be too squished. The room was pleasantly decorated and the beds were generous and comfortable. The service was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The bar downstairs was lovely! The wait staff were great! Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon walking through the gardens and along the river. Beautiful views and right across the road from the hotel. Later that evening we walked down to the ferry and caught it across to South Bank where we roamed the markets and enjoyed a lovely meal together. We caught the ferry back and strolled back to the hotel. A wonderful, relaxing stay!
We are heading back for another stay very soon.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a river view or overlooking the gardens. Beautiful.

Dear kymbo65

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review.

All the teams that comprise Royal on the Park work so hard to ensure we live up to our mission of “where service comes first.

The location of our hotel is seen as one of our best features providing both suburb views as well as proximity to all Brisbane has to offer.

I am truly grateful for the time you have taken to provide me with some genuine thanks and feedback to pass onto them.

My husband and I stayed one night and were very impressed by the staff here - all were friendly and attentive, but in a very natural way (you can tell when people are being 'fake nice'). Our room was attractively furnished, and the view over the gardens was pretty. Our package with free wifi, free parking and breakfast included was a great deal. We expected a standard hotel but found this to be a cut above.

My wife and i stayed over last weekend.
Found it very nice to overlook bicentenial gardens instead of other buildings
Staff upon arrival were very personable, friendly also more then happy to assist in anyway possible
We found the position very good also, as we visited regional flavours expo in Southbank a short 15 min stroll though the gardens
also if you have the chance i would highly recommend the restaurant, nice food, good atmosphere and again service with a smile.....

New favourite for us!

Room Tip: Garden view is best ..

We stayed at the Royal on the Park for one night on our return from north queensland. I chose the hotel specifically for it's pricing and location (reasonable CBD price and right next to the Botanic Gardens). We were pleasantly surprised. The service from all staff was excellent, very helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived. A beautifully presented classic hotel. The room was a queen city view, comfortable and quiet. Beds very comfortable and they provide extra blankets, much appreciated as we never sleep well under a doona (one temperature fits nobody). The free in room wifi and access to the business centre for printing our boarding passes was great. If we had stayed longer we would have used the pool as well. We had an easy evening walk to the Eagle Street Pier for dinner and spent the following morning in the Botanic Gardens (café there under renovation but still does good coffee and toasties). A great introduction to Brisbane and a wonderful location.

This is the first hotel of the many we have stayed in over the years where you are a guest not a room number. On arrival the staff met us almost before we pulled up and collected our luggage.
Check in was a breeze with very friendly staff and our luggage almost beat us to our room.
The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. All requests such as an extra chair were met with a friendly smile. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location opposite the botanic gardens and a short walk to the Queen St Mall and the Pier with restaurants for dinner. You can, if you are feeling a little more energetic and like walking, walk across the footbridge to Southbank. More hotels should have staff who are focussed on customer service like this hotel. Thankyou for a great short break.

First reaction when arrived, was not quite what photos showed it to be, booked on line and no one assisted when we arrived despite bell boy being in the foyer watching, but that was fine. Reception were very pleasant and we checked in with out any problems. Foyer is small and a little dated but the adjoining bar and restaurant looked really nice done in the older décor.
Rooms were smart and more modern looking than the foyer area but your standard fare. Only disappointment was the throw rugs on the end of the beds were dirty and daughter had to take it off, and we had a smear of something that looked like blood across our
vinyl headboard. We cleaned it off. Bathrooms a little tired and shower not good with hot and cold fluctuating and for a taller person it was tucked into the corner so hard to use. Good location to walk into CBD or into park across the road.

Room Tip: We faced the back over the pool on 10th floor and it was very quiet

Only here for a couple of days and experienced great service at the front desk and in the bar. The room standard and cleanliness, staff friendly and general atmosphere was one of the best we had on our holiday in Australia. Thanks to all.
