This is a nice hotel. Atractive foyer, friendly reception staff. Comfortable room, very quiet and a really comfortable bed. Good shower and nice bathroom amenities. Restaurant has good indoor/outdoor seating and the eggs benedict were faultless with a generous serving of the best salmon I've ever had in Australia. The complimentary bottle of bubbly was a nice touch too. We caught the train from the airport to Roma Street - a 20 min trip and then a 3 minute walk (uphill) to the hotel. The return walk to the station, being downhill, is even quicker. Will happily stay there again next time we are visiting Brisbane.

Room Tip: Request a room high up and you won't hear the traffic.

Thank you to the team at Urban for making our weekend break such an enjoyable one! From the effortless check-in to the friendly smiles from the bar and wait staff we could not fault this hotel. The location is great - just a short walk into the city. Lots to do and see close by. Don't just take my word for it check out all the other positive reviews. We'll be back! Thanks Urban!

We arrived a little before 2pm and were greeted by busy but very friendly front desk staff. Room was neat and tidy, we had a $119 deal inc a bottle of Champagne, so I think we were given an older room right next to the lift, having said this, no major complaints for that price. Bed was very comfortable, and I am fussy as with my beds. The biggest let down was the food in the restaurant. We had lunch and dinner there and found the food to be pretty tasteless, the salt & pepper calamari had no salt & pepper taste, the Thai beef salad was laking in taste, it had no zing at all, the Oysters Kilpatrick were pretty awful, full of BBQ sauce not Worcestershire, pretty basic stuff. The staff in the restaurant were very good and attentive. For the price of the food I thought it would be much tastier. It is a little out of the city but the walk was pleasant, just a little uphill on the way back.

Clean and friendly hotel, close to Roma Street station and Brisbane private hospital. Front desk staff were very helpful and full of advise on place to eat. Limited choice for breakfast, but coffee was good.

Stayed here for a medical emergency in July 2014. Really close to the medical specialist so a good location. Great location close to city, it is an icon of Brisbane now transformed into quite a trendy type hotel. Room very clean and the facilities in room great and the bed as other reviewers say was perfect. Service was excellent. Very friendly and check in and out was very efficient. They also knew I was an SOS client flown in for the appointment so a Fax was quietly slid under the door. Thanks!! Overall would stay there again and indeed I will be doing so. Highly recommended.

The hotel was really nice as in the bar, restaurant and lobby but my room was a big disappointment. It was meant to be the Grand King but it was very small and very dark with a guy across from my room grinding a metal staircase from early in the morning for hours. The shower was leaking water into the room and I couldn't find Foxtel on the TV. The staff were really nice, very friendly and really helpful.

We took advantage of a Groupon deal for this Hotel and we weren't sorry. The only issue was that there was a wedding and trying to get us and our luggage up to our room (only on Level 1) took ages as the guests were in the process of going up to the reception when we arrived.

We thought it might be a bit noisy later on given the reception but it wasn't at all. We didn't really have a view being on Level 1 but that was ok.

The bed was really comfy although perhaps a little small for a queen more like a large double.

The staff were really friendly too.

We ate a light dinner and brunch at Gazebo's and it was really nice and quite well priced especially for a hotel.

We'd stay again.
