good service, clean rooms, small but tidy. Good price close to bus and rail and to the Queen st mall and shops. great for a few days in the city, happy with this and will go back again. The location, service, clean rooms and price sells this for me

Room Tip: ask for a room high up from the street level noise

We stayed at Hotel George Williams for one night.. Firstly on checking in we were told that there was no at parking available therefore we would need to find our own (a few suggestions were given at reception). We later returned to our car with a $92 parking fee which was only so cheap (?!?) as we qualified for cheap rates on a public holiday. Once getting to our room we found that the light switch in the bathroom did not work and was tagged as such which was obviously known to the hotel. Once actually settled in our room it was fine and the room was surprisingly modern. We had a nice night with close walking distance to the city and southbank but unfortunately this was slightly dampened by the other events. Additionally, on checking out the reception was unattended and therefore we were expected to wait until they returned to check out! Can't say I will be returning unfortunately..

What they have done is refurbished the ground floor n called it hotel George Williams but then u go in the lift and the accommodation is YMCA. You open door and practically land in the bed room is that small , u can even pull out the chair from the bench as there is no room. Can hear everyone coming and going from the floor and key stopped working at midnight.

Was advertised as New years accom but no view unless u wanna look at a rusted tin roof , no rooftop to look off . Not allowed to.cook at all even toast for breakfast... I could go on for 140 a night not impressed!! cant believe they get away with advertising with no mention of it being YMCA. It would be okay if you were only paying $80-90 a night.

Room Tip: ask to not be near the lift

By no means the fanciest of hotels, BUT, at around $95 per night, with underground parking for just $24 in such a central location , makes this hotel great value.
Rooms are nothing special, AC is enormous for the room size, & bed was comfortable.
Also, it is a "not for profit operation", which is owned by & supports the YMCA & its activities.
Restaurant next door was closed for holidays but Queen Street is just 5mins away with a plethora of eating places. Alternatively, there is a Pie Face just opposite with a BWS for liquid refreshment!

Room Tip: Book direct on line for the best deals. If driving do not miss the small alleyway, just after turnin...

I had a great stay at the George Williams hotel in Brisbane which is minutes to everything! The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and we were really impressed with the warm inviting atmosphere. One of the pleasant suprises was the beds which were very comfortable. The hotel restaurant 325 on George was simply marvellous. I would recommend the George Williams and would certainly stay there again. Thank you!

Stayed here for one night so that I could catch the train from Roma St station to a concert at the entertainment centre in Boondall.

Reception seemed friendly but the lady was working by herself and seemed a bit flustered. I was provided with no inforamtion regarding the key and how it had to be used in the elevator or room and just had to figure it out myself.

Room was clean with one double bed - $95. There was also an air con and a small fridge. The tv was set way too low on the wall and I was in danger of hitting it with me head.

There was no room on the vanity to place anything.

Location was good. An easy walk to the train station or to Queen St mall.

There is a restaurant onsite but I did not try it. It looked fairly busy with local office workers.

For the price, it is a good option.

I am a business traveller and was primarily after a convenient room with good internet for work between appointments. The room was advertised on Last Minute as having broadband and wifi - excellent i thought. Wrong - no internet (wlan or wifi) unless you pay extra. After an unpleasant discussion I was given a wifi access - turned out to be 2 bar signal strength which wouldn't even run a u-tube download. I noticed the hotel did have a 5 bar strength wifi.....
The hotel position is great, rooms are small but adequate but if you have to add extra internat access costs, other hotels are better value.
