“two bedroom apartment with a view”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Return visit. Love the location, close to shops eateries, great if you like a morning or afternoon walk / run along the river - 5-8 km of riverside pathways. I felt safe walking early morning - with a lot of people using the pathways. Rooms are well appointed. Some are older than others but so far I have not been disappointed. The two bedroom one bathroom apartment was comfortable. The best way to book was through wotif.

Room Tip: I have stayed in both towers - on wotif it is 'hit and miss' however if making a reservation...

Work was paying for this one, and that can be a hit and miss affair. But what a surprise. I had a one bedroom on the fourth floor, great view, very well equipped and maintained.
Helpful staff, onsite parking, handy to everything.
Handy to the ferry wharf, although it is quicker to go into the city by bus, but if you haven’t been on the river cat it is a nice way to travel to the city. Don’t forget the little cross river ferry takes you to Bulimba with a good priced cinemas and some very good café’s

Room Tip: Higher floors better view, if using public transport, get a go card, it is heaps cheaper, the local...

Hi - my wife and I came down from Hong Kong stayed in a very nice 1 bedroom for nearly two weeks over Xmas. Very good facilities and extra helpful staff. And great location on the river with good public transport. The rooms are kepy very well which is quite a challenge in a serviced apartment situation and bearing in mind that differant owners no doubt have very differant attitudes to spending money etc on the apartments keeping them in top shape.

We recently stayed four nights to attend a wedding at Eves (also excellent by the way), 2 bedroom apartment, second floor - no complaints, in fact I felt I needed to share how wonderful the experience was. From booking right through to check out and beyond (thanks to an extended late check out). The apartments are very roomy, well appointed, very clean with a reception and services beyond reproach. The views are exceptional, the location is fantastic, the 3kms river stroll/jogging track out front is perfect, the extra long pool was great for lane swimming, in fact they had a black line to follow! The river cat pulls up 150m down the river and the little ferry to Bulimba crosses the river from there too. The staff are to be commended. Nothing was a bother, and any problem was quickly fixed with a big smile, an apology and very fast corrective action (no plug for my soak in the bath, my pillow was too big and hard - but presto, all fixed in a jiffy and Goldilocks was very happy. They were very, very accommodating and flexible to adjust my stay including early check-ins and late check outs to match my travel itinerary. The money was well worth it, the value far better than what you get for less, elsewhere. Make the stretch, you won't be disappointed. I loved it and it felt like a mini holiday in a resort in an exotic location!

We stayed in Apt E48, a privately owned 3 bedroom unit on the 5th floor with lovely river views, north-east facing, all day sun, lovely balcony. Good free parking, and an awesome restaurant across the courtyard. Pool was good, although a few more loungers would be better. The apartment was spacious, however it was very run down. Missing light fittings, broken drawers, very uncomfortable bed, the roman blinds were tatty and some could not be raised or lowered. The TV did not work, the kitchenware was unmatched and insufficient, but worst of all, we could not secure the apartment as two of the three ranchsliders would not lock. In fact the handle of the ranchslider (in the child's room) came off in our hands.
Now for the good bit. We reported our concerns to the Manager and within just a couple of hours, he had repaired the doors, TV, and supplied new crockery and cutlery. He was extremely apologetic and said that we should never have had to experience the problems we did and that the owner had agreed to refurbish the apartment very soon. The other issue which we had but did not take up with Management is that the air con unit struggled to keep the lounge cool. (The lowest we could get it to was 28 degrees!!) This was the only a/c unit in the apartment. Therefore the bedrooms were very hot and stuffy.
We did have the opportunity to view other apartments, (our party had rented four) and all were in much better condition than E48. Based on this observation, we would have no hesitation in recommending Goldsborough, but we would not consider staying in E48 until it has been refurbished.
And beware, if using a debit card, you will still be charged fees as if you were using a credit card.

The location of these apartments is great - city fringe, absolute river front, with several restaurants and cafes nearby. The view of the river from the balcony was stunning.
The building has recently had a repaint which has modernised the outside of the building, however the rooms are a little tired, but comfortable and fairly spacious.
We had a large group and booked several apartments for a few nights, and each apartment varied in their layout and furniture.
There were a couple of issues with one apartment which the onsite manager rectified very quickly. The manager was also very accommodating with a few requests we had, such as extra car parks for guests.
My biggest issue was the bed - it had a wooden frame was was quite creaky, and walking into the sharp corner of the bed in the dark was very painful!
This place has so much potential, but is definitely in need of an upgrade.

My brother put us up here as he does not have room in his own apartment for visitors. It was OK, but not really much more. The apartments have all the necessities but lack any flair. Great views from the balconies though. The second apartment was rather more tired than the first and in need of some investment in the kitchen area. Tiny kettle was barely enough for 2 and the hob was well past it best. But then again, the fridge was new so a case of swings and roundabouts. Clearly a lot depends on the owners of each apartment, and based on what we saw it might be a bit hit and miss in what you end up with. But for a few nights it would be absolutely fine.
