When booking a room with a king size bed, one expects to find exactly that, a king size bed, not two single beds pushed together with a sheet thrown over them. It was very disappointing & extremely uncomfortable to say the least. If the bed situation was fixed I would recommend these apartments to others & stay there again myself. At $185 per night I did expected a suitable bed for a couple not the two single beds pushed together to make one. The rest of the apartment however was clean, comfortable & spacious (rm 4m). The staff were very helpful & friendly. The kids loved the pool too.

Room Tip: Make sure the bed is what you pay for.

Our self cater 1 bedroom apartments are nice & large. Along with the pool & BBQ area they are ideal for a Family even for the 1 night you stayed.
Like many motels having a King bed that splits into 2 singles gives us options for the varying requirements of our guests. By combining with the Studio next door we can offer a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom option which are very popular for families. We even have a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom option.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review.

Kind Regards Chris & Janine Campbell. Managers.

We stayed at the Aabon for a weekend in late November - we had a 2 BR 2 bathroom apartment facing the street. It was clean, actually pretty quiet, and very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids. It's a really convenient location, close to the train station and there are shops close by. Our kids liked the pool. The managers who run it are extremely helpful and obliging and were very understanding when we were held up due to our flight being cancelled. We would stay here again and I can definitely recommend if you want something basic, but clean, convenient and friendly.

Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure being of service to you. We fully understand that sometimes travel plans don't work our as one would wish and, as long as our guests communicate with us about any problems we can usually work around them.
The Aabon is a very good 3 or 3 1/2 Star motel depending on what of the different options the guest selected for their accommodation requirements and this is were we target our marketing & facilities. We are very busy so there is obviously a need for us out there.

All the Best, Chris & Janine Campbell. Managers.

This was our second stay with Aabon Apartments. This time we needed a place near the International Airport.

We had a 1 room apartment and had no problems with room or price. The room was certainly clean and well presented.

Staff were friendly and eager to please our requests. No problems with recommending this spot.

Thank you for your review and the return visit. It's nice to know we are getting most things right. Those 1 bedroom apartments are nice with plenty of space. Hope you enjoyed your overseas trip and hopefully we can be of assistance next time you need accommodation near Brisbane airport.

Aabon is basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent as they organised access to our room after hours. It is very easy to access from brisbane Airport. we had a lovely breakfast in the little cafe in the shopping centre next door. The annoying thing was the lack of ventilation on a warm night. There was a sliding door, but because of security and safety we had to keep it closed all night.

Thank you for your review. The café next door is a great asset and we do get great feed back on it. Unfortunately they can close without telling us for which we seem to get the blame for.
Because of your comment about the sliding door in our Studio rooms we have decided to fit a locking devise which will allow the door to be opened slightly while still maintaining security. Because the Aabon is in a nice quiet off highway location, it hasn't been an issue before especially as each Studio has dual purpose air conditioning - heat or cooling.

Thank you very much for your kind review. We get a lot of very good comments from our guests both on the various review sites and over the counter. The Aabon is a good 3 - 3.5 Star motel depending on which one of our various options & star ratings the guest choose.
It is refreshing to get a review based on this as we have had the odd review where I think that some guests are comparing us with what they really would have liked: a 4 - 4.5 Star but for whatever reason booked a 3 Star.
We hope you got home safely and hopefully next time you need accommodation near Brisbane airport of the CBD we can be of assistance. Kind Regards Chris & Janine Campbell. Managers.

My wife and I decided to have a short break in Brisbane from the 23/7/13-25/7/13 with our 1 year old daughter and were happy with how easy and convenient to the airport the hotel is. We also enjoyed the fact it is about a 4 minute walk to the railway station and if you had a rental car, the location was Central to just about anywhere in Brisbane.
We were pleasantly surprised at the 1 bedroom apartment when we walked in as we noticed it was quite roomy and well kept. This ended when we arrived in to the bedroom. We wanted a queen bed, but I was completely pissed off (sorry for the language) to find that the bed consisted of 2 single bed, butted up together but with blankets thrown over the top to make it look like a queen bed. I honestly don`t know how hotels think that this is acceptable as you cannot disguise the fact you have a massive crack down the middle of the bed. Add to this the mattresses were so firm, it gave my wife and I terrible sleeps. I wanted to complain there and then but my wife wanted me to keep the peace as it was only 2 nights. Well here is the complaint, it`s just a disgusting arrogance to think people will fall for 2 single beds being a queen bed.
My other complaint is about the showers. They have those bloody water saver shower heads, an absolute scourge that is spreading like a cancer around this country. I don`t want to hear some crap about saving the environment, it`s done to save hotels money, rip us off and make our stay uncomfortable. Simple.
Would we return? Not sure. You see I can live with the shower thing, but the bed thing absolutely NOT! When you`re chasing around a 1 year old all day you need plenty of energy, and unfortunately your beds simply did not give us any quality sleep.
Everything else was ok, the cot was good, location was good, the style and size of the apartment was good, but something MUST be done about those beds and get rid of those stupid, asthmatic shower heads.
Thank you
N. Birkett

Room Tip: Go for a 1 bedroom apartment, studio could be a little small.

It sounds like you really should have booked 4 1/2 star accommodation and not 3 1/2 which the Aabon is. One of the dangers when booking by price.
As you don't include your name on your review I can't follow up on which apartment in which of our 44 apartments in different 3 blocks you stayed in. If look at the reviews on the various sites about the Aabon, you may find that your review is one out of the box.
After reading your long review, I think readers may learn more about you and your expectations than about the Aabon.
Chris Campbell.
