“cheerful and convenient”
Reviewed 17 June 2013

this motel is not vastly overpriced like many around the airport area, but it does have all basic services including meals served in room (no restaurant) and a tiny swimming pool. If you need a restaurant there are several quite good ones within a couple of hundred metres walk. There is a major road out front but I did not find the noise disturbing. There are two ground floor rooms and the rest are on other floors - the ground floor room that I was in had an enormous bathroom designed to accommodate wheelchair visitors. Overall I must say the friendliness and price and comfort was very good, and I will stay there again if I am transiting Brisbane. There are basic drinks and wines and snacks also available at the reception, too.

Room Tip: ask for one of the two ground floor rooms as it means no lugging bags up stairs, and in the morning...

We needed accommodation close to the airport for an early flight and chose Airport Motel because of its location and price. Every thing about the stay was easy. The motel is easy to find, check in was a joy with the most friendly lady, and a free taxi phone is provided. The rooms are clean and airy with little traffic noise and good furnishings. Parking is under cover and for a small fee we were able to leave our cars for the duration of our trip. The airport is a short and rather cheap trip away. All in all a very safe, clean, convenient and well priced motel.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the road are quietest

Cheap and cheerful. However the staff go out of their way to accommodate your requirements. We wanted to leave our bags with them the week before we were due to stay for 1 night and they were extremely amenable to that. The downsides are our room was on the first floor without a lift and having several cases that was not good. Also no restaurant but there are several within 10 minutes walking distance. Tea and coffee and free internet available. You can order a breakfast or dinner to be delivered to your room at extra cost. You pay for what you get.

I stayed at the Airport Motel for one night in May 2013.

This is a pleasant enough place to stay, and in grossly overpriced Brisbane is attractive from the dollars point of view.

Location is about 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport on Kingsford Smith Dr. There are a few restaurants about 10 minutes walk away, but not much else in the area.

Check in was very friendly and efficient, and I was in my room quickly. The room itself was a good size and fairly typical for a 3 star hotel from the early 90s.

WiFi was free but limited to 250MB - enough for a Skype chat and some emails, but no more than that.

The only major concern was the noise. I requested a 'quiet room at the back' but was given a room close to the main road out the front. The noise level of passing cars and trucks made sleep almost impossible. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the hotel for you.

Overall, for a nap before a morning flight, the Airport Hotel is not a bad choice. It's not all that much more expensive than the Airport Formule One (or whatever it's been re-branded as) but is far superior. If I could get a quiet room, I'd stay again.

Stayed here one night with 2 a 2 ch while transiting Brisbane in May. 'Free Internet in rooms' didn't work. Room was very basic, bathroom not very clean, big smell of bleach in the room which was overpowering. Double and 2 singles were jammed in there, not much space to move. Outlook was onto a section next door. Didn't get much road noise, but the walls are super thin and heard what everyone was doing all night. Staff pleasant enough. Didn't use any other facilities as we had an early flight. About what you would expect for the price, and ok for a quick stop, but wouldn't recommend for any longer.

I stayed at Airport Motel (638 Kingsford) for two nights in the "deluxe queen" room @ 149 AUD... a bit expensive, but average in the area. I found the room very spacious, with a nice big desk suitable for paperwork and laptop. Overall the property was clean and well maintained. I had a good sleep. The shower was a bit weak and that's the only poor spot.

I was impressed by the sevice at this motel, far better than most hotels I've stayed at. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. All the staff were great, really, and went out of their ways to help me out a bit.

I was impressed by the kitchen on-site. They have a chef -- I saw him cooking -- and you can buy home cooked meals to have sent up to your room at reasonable cost. They also prepare breakfasts to order.

That was VERY impressive. Overall a great motel.

Stayed here as had an early flight the next morning.

Easy to find, reception had good opening hours. Friendly lady on service desk.

Undercover parking.

Lift was fairly slow but had stairs as well.

Room was very clean and had new carpets.

Room was quite small but was well equipped for motel accommodation. No foxtel which I was disappointed with as it was advertised. Free wifi was good.

Room was quiet and had a good night sleep.

Didn't use pool so can't comment.

Happy with price and facilities overall.
