Stayed for a couple of nights on business. Clean rooms, comfortable bed and friendly staff, you can't ask for more really.

There is a train line next to the hotel which is parallel to levels two and three, while the noise is not bad if you're a light sleeper go for a room on the higher floors.

I paid $288 for one night. The room was okay, not great, not terrible. But for $288 I think it's fair to expect a decent night's sleep. Sadly, sleep was impossible as my room backed directly on to a very noisy suburban train line. I expect the rooms that front on to Grey Street are okay but I was not given this option. I would never stay here again.

Dear Guest
Thanks for posting your feedback on Trip Advisor. Sorry to hear you endured a bad night's rest. The hotel has rooms that face the city and the west. The western side does have the railway line running behind the hotel. The windows on the western side are double glazed to reduce noise. Unfortunately the night you stayed, the hotel was fully booked and there were no rooms available on the city facing side.
Should you choose to stay with us again, please contact me directly and I will be happy to upgrade you free of charge to a one bedroom apartment facing the city/east. You can contact me directly at sue.fergusson@mantragroup.com.au.
Thanks again for your feedback.

I stayed in Mantra Southbank for business meeting for 3 nights. My principal office is two building next door, so I was happy to stay there, even though in my opinion, Mantra is more like holiday hotel than business hotel. But that did not affect my positive reviews for this hotel. Its location is in the Southbank, which is well known as touristic and leisure area. It’s a very nice area along the Brisbane river and surrounded by greens and fresh air. Although the eateries there are mostly tourist trap, I did enjoy the relaxed environment of Southbank and it’s a paradise for those who love to stroll on foot.

Room
Spacious, well equipped, and clean, with a big glass wall overlooking the Grey Street. Bed was comfortable with clean sheet and pillows. There are study desk, TV, DVD player, wardrobe cabinet, and kitchenette. Kitchenette is equipped with microwave oven, electric kettle, sink, cutleries, glasses, mugs, fork, spoon, etc. Steam iron and iron board are also stored in the cabinet along with the safe deposit box.

Bathroom is clean and not humid with good lighting and ventilation. No bath tub, only a standing shower. All water taps functioned well, incl. the temperature switch and the pressure. Standard toiletries & clean towels are provided (and also hairdryer, too!)

Location
It’s on Grey Street, Southbank. Just walk across the street and you will see the Brisbane river. It’s a nice area for jogging or even just walk along the river bank. Many eateries around, but I found them to be quite expensive. You can walk along the river and cross the pedestrian bridge to get to the botanic garden. Wheel of Brisbane (the city’s equivalent to the London Eye) is within the walking distance. Queen Street Mall is also within 10 minutes walking across the bridge. You also can use Citycat (river taxi) to get you to other part of the city along the river. The closest train station is South Brisbane (within walking distance) to get you to the other part of town, e.g. Goldcoast, Dream World, etc.

Staff
Only a few visible, but friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was fast.

Dining
Breakfast was provided on the resto at the lobby. It did not have much varieties, but I still enjoyed it. The food are fresh and the resto is nicely set up, it is surrounded by glass wall so in the morning you have the sunshine come through and creates the “open-air” feeling.

Facilities
The hotel has a nice setting swimming pool and gym, but I didn't have a chance to try it due to my schedule. I'll save it for my next trip to Brissy .. LOL :-)

Stayed here as part of Howzat tour for 1st Test @ The Gabba. In a nicely refurbished room. Large main room with bed-settee and fully equipped kitchen. All white goods including washer/dryer. Bed king size with firm mattrass (lovely for me). Area as per other posts, bars/restaurants with a useful 7/11 opposite with cheap'ish internet access. A 15/20 minute walk to hub of city on the north bank. Hotel good enough for Aussie Team to be staying there with their families.

Stunningly good breakfast - lots of healthy and unhealthy choices. Staff seemed very helpful to me - young and genuinly friendly.
Bar area quite trendy. We had an organised tour dinner, the food was excellent.

This hotel is in a great location but apart from that I don't think we'd bother again. The room was nice though the carpet in the hallway was torn which doesnt give a good impression. The pillow I had was completely useless as it went flat when you laid your head on it! Also the towels were of a poor qualiity for a hotel of that price. The breakfast was average if that really, with a basic assortment of cereals and cooked foods. The pastries were of poor quality for a city hotel. The staff were friendly enough but didn't go out of their way. Despite having a package including valet parking they tried to charge us $35 to park the car and had we not had a print out of our deal I think we may have faced problems.

Stayed for six nights and then two nights for work in September. Had a one bedroom unit on both occassions and found it excellent.

Roomy, light filled and all the amenities required - could cook and do laundry as . Although I found rooms to the left of reception (as you walk in) better than those to the right (right- over the train tracks and bus station; left - better view, balcony with chairs and table and roomier - same price).

Southbank an excellent location - lots of pubs, bars, walking tracks, boutique shops, restaurants and great vibe. Convenience stores and bottle shops accross the road if you feel like staying in without paying hotel prices.

Helpful staff and respond to any request / query quickly.

Room service of limited range but no complaints at all.

Looking forward to staying again in a couple of weeks.
