I had read some mixed reviews on this property but on this occasion it did not disappoint. As others have also pointed out Accor can be hit and miss with their acknowledgement of their platinum members, but at this hotel I was welcomed back, got a room upgrade to a very spacious room and lounge access. All staff were very helpful and pleasant, lounge was basic but very quiet – staff helpful. I would definitely return to this hotel.

I could not fault this hotel - until it was nearly time to leave.

My room was spacious with two double beds, a reasonable desk space and a couple of easy chairs. The bathroom was also quite large with a good range of amenities.

The thing that impressed me the most was the recognition of my Accor status (rarely acknowledged) at reception. I was given an explanation of the benefits and shortly after check-in a bottle of wine was delivered to my room. For me, that is a first in the Accor world.

Next morning I attended a function and the organiser asked that the coffee station be moved to outside the room. The supervisor was not impressed but did so reluctantly.

Then when I was leaving it took 20 minutes to get the car from valet because they had blocked it in - even though the departure time was specified when the car was parked.

Dear AussieStrategist,

I was pleased to read you had good service at reception and the team was knowledgeable on your status, especially as we are one of the first to give you that great service. Please do accept my apologies for the delay in receiving your car. A valid comment I will pass onto our Front Office Manager. I will also pass your feedback onto our Food & Beverage Manager regarding the reaction from our supervisor during the function. Thankyou for taking the time to tell us about your stay and we look forward to seeing you again sometime.

Sincerely,
Grant Parnell

Spacious and clean room. I had 2 double bed in my room! Though it is near the city walking Street but it is not noisy. The city walk street is just a stone throw away, with lots of food eateries, shopping and supermarket.

Impressed by the friendly and helpful concierge and reception staff and by the pleasant and well appointed room. However, nothing I could do would get the air conditioning to blow warm air. Also the hot water took forever to arrive at the shower. The shower/bath was slippery and a high step out to the floor. The restaurant downstairs had limited appeal for dinner and the service was patchy. It was silly expensive for breakfast. I had juice, cereal and coffee and my wife had danish and coffee. $70.

We stayed here twice within three weeks, and its location is a great base for a city-based visit, with its proximity to the CBD, the Roma Street gardens, the bridge across to Southbank and the museums, galleries etc. The reception area is shared with a Mercure hotel, but this is not a problem. The restaurant has recently been renovated, and there is ample space for breakfast and dinner. We had access to the Executive Lounge - however, the hotel management would benefit from visiting such a lounge in other Pullman hotels eg Bangkok, Dubai. Most of the time there is no staff member present, and the refreshments available during the day are of minimal quality. We chose to have our breakfast in the restaurant, rather than in the lounge. We had wifi provided, but otherwise there still is a charge for this. When will Accor hotels get the message - it should be freely available to all clients. The concierge service was most helpful on both stays. There is a taxi rank nearby, and bus and train access. King George Square is a great place to sit and people watch.

Room Tip: Check the view before accepting the room - there is significant variation
