Welcomed on arrival and bags looked after immediately. Front desk service was great, it was Chinese New Year so the lady at the desk printed out a schedule for us and suggested some nice places to eat. Room was comfortable and set out nicely, with a coffee machine & Bose sound system (restricted to a low volume- fair enough). Pool on rooftop is just a lap pool, not that impressive or relaxing. Overall, nice, well run hotel.

Ideally situated in the Valley, the Emporium has a great atmosphere and is well worth a visit. The staff are fantastic and the restaurant nearby Tartufo is nothing short of brilliant, this place is well worth a stay.

No problems in staying here - friendly staff, car valet service, nice king room, comfortable and quiet. There is no hotel restaurant but there are plenty of eateries within a minute's walk of the front door, And 3 minutes' walk away is the James St shopping and cinema precinct. Taxis and buses into town are easy to catch too. The room service breakfast was very good as well. Loved it.

20 minutes train ( $16 ) ride from BNE airport to Fortitude Valley train station and then a 10 minute walk takes you to this boutique hotel. Well appointed rooms, large bathroom with extra large shower and a bed that oozes comfort, complimented by a choice of 6 'types' of pillow. A great nights sleep is guaranteed. Courteous/friendly service from everyone I encountered. Plenty of eateries ( not top end, but no real dives...) on the doorstep. 6 minute taxi ride ( $12 ) to Queen Street shopping Mall.

We went up to visit our sister who lives in Brisbane. Hotel is a short stroll from a lovely area that has shop, cafes and restaurants. Also, just outside the hotel are nice restaurants and cafes. We had an interconnecting room from the children and rooms were large and nice. Pool is also nice on the roof but not kid friendly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. If we were going to Brisbane again would stay at this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding on 17 Jan 2014, we had booked 2 rooms,1 for myself & my husband and 1 for our son and his partner. Whilst our stay was pleasant this soon ended when my son received a phone call from the duty manager accusing either him or his partner of smoking in the room, my son explained that neither he or his partner are smokers & that they should speak to there cleaning staff, he was advised that they had "evidence" of him smoking in the room once again my son confirmed that neither he or his partner smoke. They have advised that his name will be put in a register and if he stays again (not likely) he will be scrutinised. We are very disappointed in the way this has been handled and if you wish to accuse clients of this sort of behaviour you should ensure you have all the facts and at least ask the question before you accuse....wonder what happened to the customer being right? Poor very poor.

Dear Amos08,

Emporium Hotel stands by it’s non-smoking policy, we adhere to this in an effort to ensure that our rooms are maintained as a smoke free environment for all of our guests. We discussed this matter with the guest who occupied the room in question (your son) and as a gesture of goodwill agreed not to charge the cleaning fee, even though the room had been smoked in and required a special cleaning service.

For the benefit of Trip Advisor readers, Emporium Hotel is a non-smoking hotel however we do have areas available for guests who wish to smoke. If you require further information please feel free to contact our reservations department directly.

Kind Regards

As an oversears visitor, a good concierge is wonderful and Emporium did not disappoint. Great maps of local area with excellent recommendations for 5K run/walk routes to river, restaurants and shopping. Always ready to help with taxi's etc. Rooms were fantastic, quiet and beds very comfortable. Value was great. Didn't use the spa or take advantage of the breakfast so didn't rate. Looking forward to another stay.
